The Highway Code Rule 167 explicitly states that a driver must not overtake approaching or at a level crossing. The driver overtook in the prohibited zone, creating a risk of collision with other road users and trains. This conduct appears to contravene the Level Crossing Regulations and meets the definition of careless or potentially dangerous driving.

@SaferRoadsYorks It’s about time cycling was banned. Cyclists are nothing but a menace to proper road users. They expect car drivers the adhere to the Highway Code while flouting it themselves. Their bikes should be crushed, the metal sold for scrap and the money given to charity.

Most motorists now know how to pass cyclists leaving at least 1.5m of space, however, there are still some who need to learn. This Skoda keeper is soon to get a police letter demanding confirmation of the driver so they can be processed for careless driving.
