AIR AMBULANCES OUT OF TIMMINS BEING EQUIPPED WITH BLOOD PACKS Ornge air ambulance and Timmins and District Hospital are working together to provide Blood on Board for patient transfer and emergency flights, eliminating the need to wait for blood from hospitals and blood banks.

@drrandywax @TorontoMedics @Ornge A CCP/MD model may work one day. But currently, we do not utilize our CCP resources to their full potential. A number of the issues mentioned in the article can be addressed now with CCP teams, improvements in dispatching, education and interagency cooperation.

@JonTheMedic @TorontoMedics @Ornge Agreed 100%! Land scene calls for CCPs based in the GTA makes total sense in my opinion. I think the optimal crew for these select responses need to be CCP +/- MD. I don’t think CCPs will be performing field REBOA or thoracotomies or amputations any time soon though.

Time to try something new to help trauma patients in Toronto/GTA. The potential additive system benefits of appropriately trained prehospital physicians should be evaluated here as we catch up with other regions around the world. @TorontoMedics @Ornge thestar.com/news/gta/too-m…
