Question... for the second time in the last few years, I've described someone I think highly of as "competent". I meant it as a compliment, but has been taken as an insult. What is your perception of that word?

@OnthisdayRN The tale goes, that all the surviving sailors emptied their pockets to club together for the making of a silver bell that would embody the ‘spirit of the Ark’. That bell was on my part of ship in ARK ROYAL V, then moved to the Fleet Air Arm museum when she decommissioned

#OnThisDay 1941 the Aircraft Carrier HMS ARK ROYAL is torpedoed by U-Boat and lost whilst under tow. Only 1 of the crew of over 1,400 was lost. #Remember
