Netherlands 🇳🇱 just became the first European country to officially approve Tesla FSD Supervised.
RDW type approval is done - rollout has already began.

@jstern111 The UK has had years to implement their own approach and approval but didn't.
I suspect they will wait for Jan but open to an approval in the summer if they decide to adopt the recent approvals.

@Hazza52 @WarrenWhyteUK @Keir_Starmer @Tesla From some source code surfing on the Tesla website, there is a suggestion that UK drives are all set up and ready to go. Tesla just needs to turn it on. The difficult bit is what is the trigger that allows that to happen as it is not clear.

@jstern111 @WarrenWhyteUK @Keir_Starmer @Tesla I was wondering whether they’d do this, but wouldn’t they have to remove all ‘self-driving’ branding as using those terms are now prohibited in the UK for anything lower than L3? I doubt Tesla would go for that as they couldn’t market it as FSD.

@LamarMK In total, I have had 4 Tesla vehicles. Three Model 3 Performance all with FSD and a Model X Long Range with EAP. Having seen how the vehicles have evolved over the years and the great tech onboard, I won't be going anywhere else and that is coming from a petrol head!!

@Heidi_Labour Is there now a plan for UK progress without waiting for all of the secondary legislation of the Automated Vehicles Act? Could a classification of the system as ADAS or the issuance of a National Small Series Type approval be issued?

@davidthake @tesla_jokes From some AI code digging on the Tesla software, there are two flags. One that references FSD eligibility (set to yes for UK cars with paid for FSD) and one that references a country code (ie a geofence). This suggests that a UK FSD car entering an enabled country could work.

@benonwine Police officers are Crown Servants as they take an oath to the Crown. They are also holders of public office as a constable. As they serve the Crown not the State, they have original powers meaning they are responsible for their actions under the law.

@GBNEWS Surprised they sell any new diesel cars. With DPFs fitted as standard that need driving over 40mph to regen, with the max speed limit on the island being 40mph, you have to break the law to keep them serviceable. Makes no sense to sell them at all.

@teslaplaidtokde @Tesla_NL_TR As I understand it, a lot of the base data for Tesla (speed limits etc) comes from TomTom which is why you can use the TomTom Mapshare site to make changes for Tesla maps update incorporation.
