@levelsio I had the same problem - now I use the Duux Whisper Flex2 infront of the bed pointing to the ajar bedroom door like 3-4 meter away. The Bernoulli effect drags the bottom concentrated CO2 out of the bedroom. Fan is super silent. I get close to 400ppm including a baby in the room

I still haven't solved the CO2 bedroom challenge You open the window and you wake up from a 6am garbage truck or barking dogs and sunlight You close it, you suffocate in 1200 ppl at 5am I guess you really need some mini tube in your wall with a vent that opens and closed based on internal CO2 but how do I build that?

We synthesize a gene sequence and when we try to amplify the original plasmid in Top10, DH5 alpha or DH10 beta we always end up with a transposon insertion in the miniprep, any tips on how to avoid it?, thanks a lot in advance!

It took Nature 13 months to publish Evo 2! 13 months! For reference: Opus 4.5 ended software engineering as we know it 4 months ago. ClawdBot added 2 million users in a single week in January. Academic publishing is so cooked it's not even funny nature.com/articles/s4158…

@jrkelly @npokorzynski It is the year 2034, after a one week power outage caused by a solar flare, FlAiming awakens to continue the 500x1920 well experiment. Strangely a white fluffy substance grew blocking bacterial growth…. And that kids is how we discovered antibAiotics.

New preprint on technologies to scale up CRISPR screens. We use them to map 665,856 pairwise genetic perturbations and outline a path to comprehensive interaction mapping in human cells. We also introduce an approach for cloning lentiviral libraries with billions of elements.

@iskander 😂 why work with all cell lines separately when you can pool. To be fair, I never had such summer students. Problem is what to do in winter and spring.

@Juli_Bla At the end of the summer: "here are your cultures sir, labels were unfortunately in erasable marker but they're probably all HeLa + mycoplasma at this point, I'll send you my draft recommendation letter"

What’s the simplest dumbest way to automate mammalian cell culture? Like, forget even experimental conditions / read-outs, is there an automated incubator with eg media changes?

People keep asking. A big value driver in our Foundation Model deal is we 100% own the PRETRAINING data. It’s not public, it’s NOT owned by a university, etc
