@JustRandomGuy_K @jfsrev @RealSimpleAriel Have you analysed what the stocks have been done after you exit on break of 21 ema? Some traders use strategy to await two closes below 21 ema to fully exit position. Or to see what it will be doing on next trading day at opening and then decide.

@jfsrev @RealSimpleAriel After reviewing my trades, most finish at 10-15 ATR extensions, however, a small amount keep going and the 21 EMA break is much much higher, so I developed the following selling rules. >25% of initial pos only into 21EMA break >75% saceld out ATR ext

Fine tuned the sales a bit and added a tracker for existing positions where you put ticker and shares and get a result of what to sell. You can ask chatgpt to reproduce this, np For placing sell orders I use the "ATR multiple bands over 50D (%)" indicator and put limit orders

Usually 50SMA is worse than 21EMA but in some outlier cases it is much better. Usually at max ATR% extension the sale is higher than the 21 EMA break but you never know what ATR extension will be the last. This is data for my 2025 winning trades. Thoughts? Thanks!

@TradingHorror @jfsrev @RealSimpleAriel If I buy 100 shares. 25 I keep for selling once the 21 EMA is broken and the LOD is broken again. The rest (75) I sell into strenght. always I sell a % remaining of the 75 shares at each ATR multiple

Trimmed $BB 2nd day burst +23+% today & $ARM +100% into $300. I trim into big extensions, big round #’s, or massive 2 day b/o burst regardless of how giddy I get most of the time unless I feel I’m undersized in a TML or it’s the start of a FTD.

I'm ok wirh whatever works for you; I don't argue with success. But for most using ATR, OB/OS oscillators, etc... my advice is to learn how to read charts and you won't need all the formulas and calculations. Indicators can only be coincident or lagging, so why not just go to the source?

@denis__hamel Very interesting. However, I feel many times stocks hit 8 atr, correct a bit laterally, then keep going up (although much less extended fron the 50). Sometimes they keep going up but as the 50 goes up, they stat 6-8x extended. the fact that an extension ends dsnt mean move ends

@jbulltard1 May I ask why you use the 8 ema instead of 10 ema? I have the 10 ema on all my charts
