@Jenny_1884 They are not paid. They aren’t allowed to see reps any more, haven’t for years. They follow NICE guidelines for prescribing,if a pt refuses treatment, the GPs make no money & lose no money either from their QOF as we just code you as refused. You really hate the NHS don’t you ?

I’ve come to the conclusion that if we are told something is good for you then it isn’t, that’s why after researching I will not take Statins. If GPs are paid to prescribe certain products then I steer well & truly clear. I question everything now. Has anybody else refused them?

The NHS won’t take things back. We had boxes of bandages, unopened medications and creams etc when my grandmother died. We offered to take it all back and they refused. We ended up giving it all to a private nursing home. Ridiculous.

@RespectIsVital I have watched and assisted on more LPs than I can remember. I would NEVER attempt one even though I think I could do one competently myself. Falsify documents ? You should never work in Healthcare again.

If I, an non medically trained person, attempted a lumbar puncture, I'm fairly certain I'd be arrested for assault or ABH. Physician Associates (PA) have no business even thinking about lumbar punctures, let alone attempting one. PAs are a ploy to hit targets whatever the cost. They shouldn't exist. In my unqualified opinion, there should be more support for nurses with x̌ years of experience to "uprate" to being a doctor. They are an untapped gold mine of knowledge, experience and understanding of medicine.

@rut85826 Check your NHS app, The results will be on there and you will clearly see the reasons why some or all need repeating. The GP will Have reviewed them and left a comment.

Several texts from surgery telling me to call them. Apparently need last weeks bloods repeated. Asked what for but receptionist no clue, maybe for infection ? Which is fair enough, not her job but it would be nice to know. This happens all the time, no communication.

@DrNickDalmon @anaesthetic_spr No they just won’t pay my subs, and it’s more than the RCN. Most surgeries are very fair, the one I work for now not so much, but it is what it is. It’s convenient and I’m only a couple of years off retirement.

@DrNickDalmon @anaesthetic_spr It’s a tough and tricky one in GP land. Some practices will add you to their MDU cover but many ( including mine ) won’t. Unison are even worse than the RCN.
