The Lautenberg Amendment, passed in 1996, amended the National Firearms Act of 1968. It makes it a felony for anyone convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence such as an assault or attempted assault on a family member, to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition. The purpose of this Amendment is to get and keep firearms out of the hands of those individuals with domestic violence convictions. I have now been accosted by two Republican members of Congress for trying to remove pesticide liability protections. Both of which claim to be “God-fearing” Christians, but are shilling for cancer causing pesticide companies. Yikes. One even claims to be pro-life, but is cool with pesticides killing kids.
