people are mad about this opinion, but it’s about planning. no one’s talking about emergencies and unexpected events. having real life obligations and being good with planning out your free time is doable lol. maybe if your life is so preoccupied with obligations that are more pressing than a video game, maybe you shouldn’t be concerned with pushing competitively in that video game.

i genuinely dont know why this is even a topic of conversation. ANYONE can have an unexpected interruption to their gaming. AFKing isnt exclusive to parents either, ive AFKed in keys because of unannounced visitors, tornadoes, my dog, sourdough, the onset of food poisoning etc...

A baby sleeping in the back is a solid 50/50 if it wakes up or not. If youre the sole caretaker atm at home of your baby, you shouldn't be queueing timegated competitive content and collectively waste 4 people's time. Plenty of other things to do in the meantime without being selfish.

Really all of this could have been avoided if the child haver had asked everyone if it was ok at the possibility of them leaving mid key for their baby. WoW players are ALL about their time. Meaningful time sinks. Their time is valuable. Time is the most precious commodity. Its limited. So waste peoples time, they are likely to act like this.
A friend/guild group would be understanding, but strangers? You know what friends normally do first? Ask consent of their friends or warn them prior to starting content. This OP is overreacting, yes. Kid should always take priority, yes. Anyone can get pulled away by RL anytime sure. But give people a heads up. Thats fair & considerate of their time. Tricking/forcing people into things without warning is disrespectful. Idk man. I get OPs frustration but this is so excessive 💀
