“My entrepreneurial journey began in 2019 with nothing more than passion, ₦30,000 (about $21) in personal savings, and a strong conviction that agriculture could be a pathway for women’s economic empowerment in Nigeria,” Aishah Sulaiman tells FORBES AFRICA. In 2020, she formally registered Royal Pearls Resources Ltd, an agro-processing and food innovation enterprise based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Starting small, she processed gluten-free flours — including plantain, cassava, yam and beans — using basic equipment in a shared workspace. With a small but determined team, she began laying the foundation for a business rooted in innovation, inclusion and impact.
