Incredible that this French general’s “insights” lasted all of one day before the U.S. military created a makeshift landing strip and flew in multiple large aircraft to rescue a downed pilot.

During World War II, Hitler was convinced that Americans lacked the will to fight and that any who did would be quickly overwhelmed. When early reports arrived from the battles in North Africa, German observers noted that Americans fought differently from the Europeans. Rather than charging aggressively and risking heavy infantry casualties, U.S. forces relied on overwhelming firepower—staying at a distance and expending vast quantities of artillery with little hesitation. Thanks to unmatched industrial production and logistics, fresh supplies were always available. This approach allowed relatively smaller American units to wear down much larger and well-entrenched enemy forces. In contrast, German and other European doctrines often emphasized aggressive maneuver and were sometimes more willing to accept high casualties to achieve objectives or preserve key equipment. This material-heavy American style surprised many Germans, including Hitler, who had long dismissed U.S. soldiers as soft and lacking in fighting spirit. He believed soldiers were cheap and expendable; he discovered too late that Americans fought to conserve lives by expending machines and ammunition instead. It was one of many reasons for Germany’s defeat—perhaps the hardest for some foreigners to fully understand. Americans place a high value on the lives of our soldiers. Equipment and shells could always be replaced.

A man was getting out of his Lamborghini and someone stopped him and said aggressively: “How many people could you have fed in starving countries for the price of that Lambo?” The man paused, then replied. “I don’t know, but it fed a lot of the 1,800 families who work at Lamborghini. It fed the designers' families. It fed the carbon-fibre manufactures families. It fed the tyre manufacturers families. The 300 workers who are dedicated to making each individual Lamborghini all get to eat and work building something they love" This is the fundamental problem with socialists. Socialism expects you to give it all away, but capitalism creates it in the first place

Do you understand that Ukraine has been jamming these same cheesy Chinese commercial grade drones with off the shelf electronics for years? They are so effective that Russia has all but abandoned 2.4 and 5.8 ghz. The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) utilizes a layered suite of electronic warfare (EW) tools ranging from individual backpack units to vehicle-mounted systems to disrupt 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequencies. The USMC actively fielded "non-kinetic" capabilities to every squad. For infantry on the move, the USMC relies on compact, battery-powered devices to jam standard drone frequencies such as the MODI II Backpack - A lightweight backpack system that jams the specific frequencies used by modern consumer drones (2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz). It is a versatile tool that can also be used for signals intelligence. The USMC has deployed handheld and rifle systems, such as the DroneGun Tactical and similar "rifle-style" jammers. These use directional antennas to "point and shoot" at a drone, forcing it to land or return to its home site. L-MADIS (Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System): Mounted on Polaris MRZR all-terrain vehicles, this system uses two vehicles: one for detection (radar and cameras) and one for "the brawn," utilizing the Modi II jammer to disrupt drone communications. MADIS (Marine Air Defense Integrated System): A more robust version mounted on Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs). The Mk2 variant is specifically responsible for the Counter-UAS mission, using electronic countermeasures and an M134 Minigun for a layered defense. To counter swarm attacks, the USMC is deploying high-power microwave systems like the Epirus Leonidas, which can disable multiple drones simultaneously by overloading their electronics rather than just jamming their radio signals. twz.com/news-features/…

🇮🇷 Iranian soldiers in underground trenches on Kharg Island are posting photos and stating that they are ready to repel a possible US landing- 👇 🔹 Judging by the photo, the Iranians have already received FPV kamikaze drones produced by the Chinese company Shenzhen Beizao Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. This model is equipped with a 5.8 GHz frequency video transmission antenna. 🔹 The only threat that the US would face in a land operation - unlike Iranian standard conventional weapons - is precisely the large-scale use of medium-range FPV kamikaze drones within asymmetric warfare and ambushes carried out by operators… Otherwise, Iran does not have armored vehicles on land, nor can it offer organized resistance within the framework of standard infantry tactics against the US elite amphibious and land forces - especially considering they will have 100% air support… 🔹 Thus, if the US suffers losses in land clashes during the capture of the Strait of Hormuz islands, the vast majority will be caused by ambushes carried out by Iranian FPV drones… It is likely that Russian operators experienced in the Ukraine war are already on site. My son has asked me repeatedly all night if I had noticed how bad the CGI in the Spiderman trailer looks. Yes, you can't help but notice how bad it looks. This is a good post on why.
Anish Moonka@anishmoonka

Sure, your eyes aren’t tricking you. That clip looks better than the new trailer, and the reason has nothing to do with talent. The VFX supervisor on Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014? Jerome Chen. The VFX supervisor on Brand New Day? Also Jerome Chen. Same person. Completely different system around him. In 2014, Chen had 50 effects artists at Sony Imageworks, the largest VFX crew the studio had ever put on a single project. They handled about 1,000 of the film’s 1,600 VFX shots on a $255 million budget. The crew shot on real film (not digital), on location in actual New York City, scanned Times Square with 36,000 photographs of over 100 billboards, and built physical lighting rigs on set so the CGI would match the real world. Now look at how Marvel makes Spider-Man movies. No Way Home had 2,500 VFX shots spread across 12 studios and about 3,000 artists. The budget was $200 million, $55 million less than TASM2 despite having 56% more VFX shots. Digital Domain, one of the VFX vendors, was delivering final shots days before the December 17, 2021, release. They kept reworking shots into mid-January, after the movie was already in theaters. Zoom out, and the math gets worse. Marvel released 6 films between 2008 and 2012. From 2023 to 2025, they pushed out 7 films and 7 TV shows. The Hollywood union representing VFX workers reported that Marvel pays artists about 20% below industry average and staffs one person where other studios hire three. Artists described 64-hour weeks and breakdowns on the job. Then, in February 2025, Technicolor, the parent company of MPC (three-time Oscar winner for Life of Pi, The Jungle Book, and 1917), collapsed almost overnight. 4,500 jobs gone globally. The studio had been actively working on Disney and Paramount films when the lights went out. Brand New Day has four months before release, and trailers routinely show unfinished shots. But the gap between a 2014 Spider-Man and a 2026 Spider-Man has nothing to do with technology going backwards. The industry has been asked to do three times the work for less money per shot while its biggest studios are going under.

The internet constantly tells women that men are terrible listeners because the second a woman starts venting about her day, the man immediately interrupts to offer a logical solution. We are taught to view this as him being dismissive, emotionally unintelligent, or invalidating our feelings. The strict, unpopular truth is that to a man, fixing the problem is his absolute highest, most desperate form of empathy. Women vent to connect; we want our partner to just sit in the dark with us and validate the emotion. But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. When he immediately offers a spreadsheet, a strategy, or a solution to your problem, he isn't trying to silence you. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain. We constantly shame men for "not just listening," completely ignoring the fact that his attempt to fix your life is his most profound declaration of love.
