What would it take for climate and energy conversations to center women not just as beneficiaries, but as thinkers, leaders, and decision-makers? Facilitating this learning space reminded me that climate justice must be inclusive, grounded, and intentional. #ClimateJustice

Bahá’í Community of Uganda
The participants explored the question, “In light of persistent gaps between legal progress and lived realities for women and girls, how might we—across sectors and roles—need to rethink what justice means, and how we personally and collectively contribute to building a more just society?” #BahaiUg #CSW70 #GenderEquality (2/3)

MUNGUDIT - A Name That Carries a Promise "Wisdom is like a baobab tree; no one individual can embrace it alone." Many ask me about my names, Ofoyirwoth and Mungudit. Ofoyirwoth is the Alur translation of my first name, Asiimwe—both mean “thankful.” Simple, familiar, and personal. But Mungudit is different. It is a name that carries a story, a blessing, and a responsibility. Exactly three years ago, I received Mungudit from the Queen Mother of Alur, the mother of the King of Alur Kingdom (Ubimu), at the palace (Kaal) in Atyak, Zombo District. She had called us the @actionaiduganda there for a purpose: to discuss donating land in Nebbi for a shelter for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The @KerAlurKingdom (Alur Kingdom) has long championed the fight against GBV, partnering with @actionaiduganda, @MEMPROWUganda, @PlanUganda etc, and even private allies like @mtnug. Our work in collaboration then remindes me of a proverb: “The strength of the lion is in the pride.” Alone, no one could solve such challenges but together, with the community we planted hope and dreams. Receiving the name Mungudit that day felt like being entrusted with that hope and dreams. It was more than a name—it was a call to act, to keep standing for vulnerable, and to ensure that every seed planted would bear fruit. Carrying it is a daily reminder that God’s greatness is reflected in our deeds, in the courage to serve, and in the lives we touch. A name is not just a word; it is a story waiting to be lived. Mungudit is my story, a promise to honor those who came before me and to walk with those who still need hope and to dream.

#COP30 felt-like standing between real progress & frustration On one hand: forests, health resilience & nature finance got the weight they deserve On the other:No fossil fuel phase-out, vague finance pathways & slow ambition from major emitters Read full: linkedin.com/posts/katho-sh…

Girls For Climate Action
Girls For Climate Action@G4ClimateAction·
Week One of #COP30 is done, and we are just getting started. From negotiations on the Gender Action Plan (GAP) to renewed pressure on New Quantified Goals (NQG) for climate finance, and the rising urgency around just transition and climate adaptation, last week revealed one truth we hold close: when gender justice is sidelined, climate ambition collapses. Across the halls in Belém, we shall follow conversations shaping the future of climate finance, the contested language around gender responsiveness, and the widening gaps in adaptation support for communities already living the crisis. This week, we step forward with purpose. We kick off Week Two with our first event at the #ClimateMobilityPavilion, spotlighting the gendered realities of displacement, loss, and rebuilding, while amplifying feminist solutions that centre dignity and justice. We are here, we are organized, and we are leading with conviction. #COP30 #GirlsForClimateAction #ClimateFinance #JustTransition #GAP #NQG #ClimateAdaptation #ClimateMobility #Ecofeminism #WomenClimateLeaders @GlobalFundWomen @UrgentAct @UAF_AnP @awdf01
