I stg as someone who recently got back into collecting pokemon cards I’ll never understand the market. Because what makes these cards shit 😭 they look so nice??? Who gets to decide how much a printed cardboard is worth?? And even for a good card WHY ARE THEY WORTH x3 MY RENT?😵‍💫

@JoeMerrick Probably a no, but based on the producer interview, I'm guessing a player cant just have their whole party with the mega faint and then hop back in to break another shield if they already broke it. It's so weird too, because ZA lets you evolve multiple times in a single battle...

Like the way to fix/adjust Mega Evolution in GO was not to add a higher level which requires around 5000 Mega Energy to unlock, and a harder raid battle that requires a minimum of 8 people which uses a whole new currency. This is actual madness. I knew this would happen.

@PokeCardStop Definitely avoid the "For You" timeline if thats the case and click on a few Japanese Single Pokemon focused collector accounts for a TL clense if you can't. It's honestly how I keep myself relatively sane despite also participating as a smaller buisness. But I totally get it 🥺

Small rant time: I am so burnt out with the constant rhetoric related to card cost, prices rising/falling, Pokémon Portfolios, the same bait questions, etc. It’s really sad to see a hobby and a space I have a lot of appreciation and love for is reduced to little more than monetary value and dollar signs for so many people. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not naive. Money is such a big component of any hobby, especially one that deals with ‘collectibles’. I’m also someone who pays attention to numbers and will post about them too. Obviously it’s important and should be discussed. But sometimes it’s exhausting to see the most interaction and engagement taking place on uninspired posts about how much money someone made on Pokémon and how upset that made someone else. I think if I’m being honest with myself, I’m frustrated to see this space thrive on content that is so focused on not just money, but making money. It feels like other elements of Pokémon, the parts that make me nostalgic and happy, are suppressed now more than ever. People can/should collect and post however they want. And people being excited and happy about things going up is natural. I’m just tired of seeing the same regurgitated posts cycle the TL over and over again. Sorry for ranting, not sure if anyone else agrees or maybe I’m just overdo for a nap.

There are creators who end up forming their own enterprises or get funding but that's different than repped/managed creators.

Twitch is adding a new Business Manager role. The role will allow the person to view your Analytics, Stream Summary, Revenue, and Sponsorships. It will also allow your Business Manager to accept Sponsorships (which are usually far below market rates) on your behalf.

@realMarcusGunn @zachbussey Now, operating without sponsors out of choice due to personal beliefs is fine as long as you're strengthening other revenue sources (merch, tipping, seperate buisness launches etc.) But merely JUST going off of platform revenue over exposes you to risk with bans, outages etc.

"Indies" aren't real indies if they have management, agents or teams and opperating without an additional revenue stream is dangerous, especially nowadays.

@SQM_shane People having to do footwork on the platforms listed (direct contact) to get better paying deals or be "right place right time" for short turnarounds doesn't negate your overall point. What DOES happen when Twitch does it on site is that it sends the wrong signal to all companies

Its one thing for shitty 3rd parties like StreamElements, WeHype, Lurkit, etc. to lowball creators - they don't care about the long-term marketplace, so they do as much damage and make as much money and gtfo. But for Twitch, who has a vested interest in creators on their platform - this is a death spiral. The path to making it on Twitch is nearly impossible already, and those who are already there are finding it harder and harder to make sense every day. Undercutting that very marketplace hurts their long term viability. I seriously question their tactics, and wonder about the relationship with Amazon, and how this makes any sense at all.
