@LeahRain77 Letting 28 year olds move in to 55+ housing is the end of elderly-centered housing , which is very much needed. I’ve seen it in our neighborhood. One hole in the dam and the floods break it. The 28 year old can sell the place and buy in another neighborhood.

This is happening in Jacksonville, Florida at a 55+ community. A 28-year-old girl was living there with her father who was ill when he passed. He gave the home to his daughter, and she wants to remain living in the community.. well the HOA has decided to enforce the 55 and over law, and is asking for $1000 from 155 members in the community to sue her to get her out of the neighborhood because she’s 28 years old, not 55+. In my opinion, this is despicable. These HOA‘s have way too much power. This sh!t has to stop.

@Juicewag I’m a Virginian. Our courts had an independent group evenly re-district us in 2020 to last for 10 years. 5 Republican and 6 Democrat districts. The Democrats interfered with established law to re-district us to gain 10 districts and leaving 1 Republican. Unlawful Unfair!

So Republicans can gerrymander the entire south in a matter of 2 days but when Dems take it to an actual vote (and win) it gets tossed. Great fucking country we have. 👍

Virginia Beach is what helped Governor Youngkin win VA in 2021. I just checked the final election results for this year and saw that Virginia Beach went for VP Harris. Whoever in the @VAGOP wants to get elected next Fall should take note and get to work sooner rather than later.

Do we ever learn from our mistakes when it comes to disaster response? After Katrina you would think that we would have learned that time is of the essence. Yet here we are 5 days later and search & rescue is still just getting going in some places. Maui response was awful too.
