@marecl63 @DoctorTro I recommend the same thing to everyone regardless of diabetes. Regular exercise (weight lifting and aerobics or HIIT), and Mediterranean diet with plenty of protein which usually ends up low in carbs.

On July 1, Medicare starts paying for Wegovy at $50 a month.
It's also illegal for Medicare to cover "weight-loss" drugs.

The facility fee is based on Medicare regulations and not an act of Congress.
Under the Loper Bright decision this could be thrown out if contested as the Chevron doctrine has been rejected.

@MichaelAlbertMD I think it’s hilarious that you refer to patients who can’t get weight loss medication “stranded”. That seems extreme when referring to people’s choices and behaviors. I don’t think taxpayers should be on the hook for people’s over consumption of corn syrup.

A zero calcium score is good news, but it does not mean your arteries are free of plaque. The NATURE-CT study found that plenty of people with a zero CAC score still had significant plaque on CT angiography, because soft, non-calcified plaque is invisible to a calcium scan. That is exactly why cumulative LDL exposure matters even when your score looks perfect.

I had always respected President Obama until he made these comments… then there was the #ACA… so disappointing. People don’t understand why most people become doctors… many of us could of succeeded at more lucrative professions such as finance, business, or legal careers. We chose a path to help others. It’s hurtful to be accussed of greed. That is not what most of us are…. We are not always right but it is a compassionate profession with good intentions.

When someone says the US obesity rate is 40%+ people get upset, bring up outliers, and talk about how BMI is 'inaccurate'. So recently, doctors suggested a new measure that also considers waist circumference, waist hip ratio, and body fat scans. It estimates 70% are obese lol.
