@Cndn4Life Really. Are you Albertan. Look at the equalization and tell me we aren’t peons to Canada
English

@D00681279 @ChadNedohin @Reil76 Wow. We had over 300 signatures in 4 days of setting up in the mall. Hmmm. Guess you had rose coloured glasses. Oh and I live in a small town.
English

@KatMacDonald58 @ChadNedohin @Reil76 Sure, sure. True story.
I did see locations with separatists trying to get signatures. Never saw anybody actually at the table signing.
English

Hot take, but an honest one:
Canada wouldn’t collapse if Alberta left. Financially, it would hurt, but it would adapt.
Alberta is about 11% of the population and roughly 15% of GDP. That is significant. But Canada had a functioning economy long before the oil sands boom, and it would reorganize around the loss.
Ottawa would lose a chunk of revenue, yes. But it would also lose the cost of serving 4.7 million people. Transfers, infrastructure, federal programs, all of it.
And then there is the awkward part people do not talk about:
Canada owns the Trans Mountain pipeline. Alberta’s oil still needs a way out. That becomes a negotiation overnight.
The oil sands do not vanish if Alberta separates. The oil still gets produced and sold. Canada just loses the taxes and royalties tied to it. Painful, but not fatal.
The real disruption would be slower and messier.
Supply chains, agriculture, petrochemicals. All the stuff that quietly connects Alberta to the rest of the country. That takes time and money to rebuild.
Saying “Canada would collapse without us” was never really true. And honestly, it weakens the argument.
English

@trainofangels00 Actually we knocked on lots of doors. Always went in pairs due to the aggression from the lefties
English

Looking back on this laughable comedy show, did any of you have an Alberta separatist knock on your door to try to sell you the idea of this farce?
I really think they were too cowardice and chickenshit to actually do it.
They never came to my door.
Nobody I know witnessed them knocking on their residence entrance way to try to sell this idea.
All they saw were these guys parked on the side of roads and highways or being kicked off a private property with their dollar store provincial flags and their Amazon purchased white resin tables.
What a complete joke.
I hope they all rot.
English

@D00681279 @ChadNedohin @Reil76 You mean like the Forever Canada petition. Had one lady follow me the length of the mall screaming at me to sign.
English

@KatMacDonald58 @ChadNedohin @Reil76 Or they just told you that when they refuse to sign, so they didn't get harassed by the right wing crazies aka the wild Rose parading around as the UCP.
English

@lovelylibrary @coreyhoganyyc What. Howdy doody makes you proud. Good for you. The only reason they let him talk is he is the only liberal in the province. Who cares
English

Thank you @coreyhoganyyc for a clear, thoughtful, fact based stance on the importance of speaking up for Canada while living in Alberta. Alberta is my home, Canada is my country. It’s worth fighting for. #ForeverCanadian
English

@ConcreteXCrypto @Reil76 Your wrong. We just don’t want mass immigration which has been the beginning of the end for Canada
English

@ChadNedohin @Reil76 More than you know. Many would not sign because of the treatment from the libtards
English

@Reil76 Unfortunately both Canada and Alberta would be weaker apart… making it easier for the US to annex one or both.
Fortunately, there isn’t enough support for separation for it to pass.
English

@Reil76 @Victori49569624 Saying Canada loses taxes and royalties and pretending we won’t charge them for running through our country and ports.
We would tax the ever living shit out of them. No way this oil is coming to BCs coast without enormous royalties.
English

@CDNcapamerica @Reil76 Aren’t you nice. Btw. The land is Alberta’s. The crown land is cared for and maintained by Albertans. Look how Feds took care of Jasper ……
English

@Reil76 If they want to leave, then they get the same deal as Quebec had: you can leave, but the LAND stays Canada's (as it's crown land) and the First nations get to choose if they stay or go.
We're keeping Alberta, ALBERTANS can decide if they want to take a long walk off a short pier.
English

@shandro @SpencerFernando How will we ever know since we cannot have a democratic vote because of 20 chiefs who make $200,000+ a year and give nothing to their people unless they really are forced too.
How much money has been given to Allen with only 33 people on the reserve. Over 9 mill last year
English

Separatists also love to quote the Quebec Secession Reference:
“The democratic principle identified above would demand that considerable weight be given to a clear expression by the people of Quebec of their will to secede from Canada…”
They’ve never answered how a referendum which will end up with about 30% turnout will be “a clear expression” of anything.
And with no government party with a mandate to negotiate separation, how do separatists even think this should be given any weight, let alone “considerable” weight.
Tyler Shandro@shandro
Nothing in Justice Leonard’s decision prohibits separatists from running a separatist party with a separatist platform in the next general election. Democracy lives through long established processes for democratic participation. Why won’t separatists run on a separatist platform in a general election?
English

@KatMacDonald58 @JeffreyRWRath @SSadler79335 How can it ever be as bad as the horse shit you are throwing around .
English

We could afford to double seniors pensions in a free and independent Alberta.
Theo Fleury@TheoFleury14
This should piss a few people off!!!
English

@JeffreyRWRath @SSadler79335 Jay Carson. We all know the signatures are legit. But the issue is libtards believe all the nenshit etc comments. And it festers. We have some real libtards in my small town and the stuff they spew is amazing
English

@CanadianCoffey So he voted the way the Whip told him. 🙄 duh
Oh and since leader the government bills are so loaded with controversy nobody should pass them
English

@mark_slapinski What is going on? Well Mark. It is the woman who lives on your brain constantly heading to do an interview with Pierre. Something that will never happen in your world
English

@brianlilley Why can’t we get rid of politicians that have ethical issues?
English

@mario4thenorth Tablesalt tweets like a woman. Angry, bitter and perimenopausal.
It's neither of you
English

This is brutal. Danielle still believes that she can negotiate her way into a better deal for Alberta. She's wasting time with a bunch of useless referendum question aimed at making "Alberta stronger within a united Canada".
That's never going to happen.
Enough is enough.
We need one course of action.
An independent Alberta is the only path forward.
