If your marriage is like this, your perfection will rival the holiest of monks. “Never speak to your wife in a mundane way but with compliments, with respect and with much love. Tell her that you love her more than your own life, because this present life is nothing, and that your only hope is that the two of you pass through this life in such a way that in the world to come, you will be united in perfect love. Say to her, ‘Our time here is brief and fleeting, but if we are pleasing to God, we can exchange this life for the Kingdom to come. Then we will be perfectly one both with Christ and with each other, and our pleasure will know no bounds. I value your love above all things, and nothing would be so bitter or painful to me as our being at odds with each other. Even if I lose everything, any affliction is tolerable if you will be true to me.’ Show her that you value her company, and prefer being at home to being out at the marketplace. Esteem her in the presence of your friends and children. Praise and show admiration for her good acts; and if she ever does anything foolish, advise her patiently. Pray together at home and go to Church; when you come back home, let each ask the other the meaning of the readings and the prayers. If your marriage is like this, your perfection will rival the holiest of monks.” St John Chrysostom

I still haven't solved the CO2 bedroom challenge You open the window and you wake up from a 6am garbage truck or barking dogs and sunlight You close it, you suffocate in 1200 ppl at 5am I guess you really need some mini tube in your wall with a vent that opens and closed based on internal CO2 but how do I build that?

@VictorTaelin Why not index your documentation if you aren't already? One master "index" that has the info on when to retrieve what. The agent always carries its index and recursively retrieves what it needs using the index as its guide. I suppose the trick is then compressing the index.

seriously, working with AI is MISERABLE for one and only one reason: having to re-explain the same thing "oh yeah this new session obviously doesn't know what proper case trees are, so let me explain it for the 5000th time in my life" I'm tired AGENTS.md doesn't solve this because it is impossible to fit the entire domain knowledge without nuking the context - it would be 1m+ tokens worth RAGs don't solve this, the agent won't search unknown unknowns SKILLs don't solve this unless I keep like a collection of 1750 skills with specific cuts of domain knowledge for each possible subset of my domain that I might need in a given chat, but that's a lot of manual work recursive LLMs or whatever don't solve this for the same reason, you can't dump a domain book and expect the AGENT will magically guess that it is supposed to search for a specific bit knowledge. unknown unknowns fine tuning doesn't solve this (OSS models suck and OpenAI / Anthropic gave up on user fine tuning) I honestly think a good product around fine tuning on your domain would be a major hit and an underdog lab should take this opportunity

St. Francis of Assisi is often depicted as this chill carefree dude. He was certainly gentle to the utmost, and beyond kind. But people would be calling for his institutionalization today if he did some of the things he did now.

@OVTweetmarck I’ve yet to read about a saint who was a “chill” Catholic.

Sedevacantists go one day without being miserable challenge. Imagine getting angry over children playing and being happy. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

@Rachel4TLM Love this ratio. Wear the L as your cross. Let it humble you. Then take this to confession and preemptively pray for this parish in penance.

@LindaMeadWrites @jdflynn This is a great point, because Jesus was likely naked on the cross. The loincloth is there for our sake. But he would've been stripped naked. The Lord on his throne, the cross, is our ultimate standard, and that great humility of his should eradicate all scornful gazes.

@jdflynn Yep, this is why I get so annoyed by these judgmental posts about wearing the right clothes to church. I figure as long as a person is as clothed as Jesus on the cross it's not my place to have an opinion.

I saw the picture of the marathon runners attending Mass in short shorts and tank tops I just gotta say To me, they went against the first commandment i.e to not put "strange gods" above the one true God If the runners had always intended on going to Mass before the Marathon, they could've planned more church appropriate clothing the night before, or brought a change of clothes and changed in the bathroom But they put the marathon above God and did not give Him the respect He deserves It's really sad and disheartening.

In the Stormlight Archives, there is a character (a king) who magically wakes up each day with a random intelligence level. His caretakers test him in the morning to determine whether he’s capable of leading his country that day or is basically just given crayons.

@PastorMark Says the guy who got deposed by his own presbyters for being a bully. Is that what you mean by “hard man?” Because it led to the downfall of a whole church community. Mark, you’re better off learning a thing or two from the “soft men” you speak of, chief among them Jesus.

@Dondramaivy @JtheFree All intercessions fold into the one mediator, yes. But he calls us to participate in his mediation. That’s the piece you’re missing. 1 Tim 2:1-5: Intercede for others (v.1) This is good and acceptable in the sight of God (v.3) Declares Christ the one mediator (v.5) One chain.

@JtheFree Openly learning but I know the stuff I am talking about. This isn’t hard stuff I’m explaining it’s just the basics. There is one mediator we know who that one mediator is. You don’t pray to people who died. Respectfully It’s you who needs to learn man

I do not understand how someone can reasonably state that a family member or friend will pray for them here on Earth, but when they get to Heaven somehow its inconceivable that this loved one would still pray for them.
