the amount of opportunities in the startup scene in SF compared to NYC is simply mind-blowing
before I came to SF, I met a lot a lot of people in NYC who had rather harsh opinions on SF
in only 3 weeks here, I’ve basically 10xed every aspect of my life: startup-wise, income-wise, and mindset as well
this type of environment is not usual, it’s genuinely been amazing

@DrunkAsshole67 Yes, we’re eastern europeans hosting a hackathon in SF tomorrow with drinks: luma.com/bilt-vcn

@Hartdrawss Come show the people how to build it: luma.com/bilt-vcn

90% of mobile apps fail in the first 30 days.
here's what i learnt the HARD way :
> screen 1 must show the core value; not a logo, not a loader
> if your onboarding has more than 3 steps, you're losing half your users before they even start
> i now ship with posthog wired from day 1; you cant fix what you cant see
> app store screenshots matter more than the app itself at this stage
> dont use a web wrapper if you care about app store approval rates
> i test on a real device before every submission; simulators have lied to me before
> the 30MB limit will catch you off guard if you're not auditing assets early
> push notifications sent in the first 24 hours retain users better than any feature
> one bug in the payment flow costs you more than 10 bugs anywhere else
> response time under 2 seconds or your bounce rate looks like a cliff

bro was right.
Atlassian down 75%. HubSpot down 69%. Figma down 86%.
Almost all of them down 30–70% from their 52-week highs.
AI is literally eating software alive and repricing every company in real time.
SaaS is cooked fr 😭

Naval@naval
Software was eaten by AI.

Holy sh*t🤯
App are officially the future
And every investor knows it
Rork became the #1 mobile app builder in the world during 2025
Literally 10 months after launching
with only $3M in funding
All the other app builders got $10M to $100M+ in funding
and still could not compete
And now Rork raised a $15M seed round.
There has never been better tools or a better time to build mobile apps
Get to work
Rork@rork
Big news: Rork raised a $15M seed round led by @leftlanecap with a16z @speedrun, @peakxvpartners, @trueventures, @GoodwaterCap, and others. Our team has been building mobile apps for the App Store since we were kids. Now we're making it possible for everyone else to do the same. And this is our story – in tribute to Howard Roark.

Made this fish game intro this week for fun.
1 3D asset, 2 videos.
Qwen AI to generate the first frame of each video.
Grok Imagine to bring both videos to life and create the logo.
I used Blender to create and rig the 3D fish based on the video's design. (And to make this post's video)
Three.js (via expo-three) to render the fish, bubbles and shadow in real-time.
react-native-ease by @appandflow for the floating particles with transform, translate, scale, perspective, fade.
Expo for the full React Native build, video playback (expo-video), asset loading, and dev builds.
expo-sensors (DeviceMotion) for the gyroscope-driven parallax on the water background.
Any ideas what type of game it could be ?

@mattiapomelli You can build a custom version for yourself with bilt.me, it’s throwing a hackathon tomorrow in SF as well

WaterLlama offers are crazy.
I was just checking it out and got the 6.99€ lifetime offer.
I bought it even knowing i'd probably never use it lol.
It's so cheap you just think "why not".
This way they still make some money from people who would have never paid a sub.
Jacob Rodri@jacobrodri_
This water tracker app is making $105K/month and this is what its onboarding looks like: 8 screens + soft paywall + 80% off if you close it

@BitrigApp How is this not against Apple’s new rules regarding apps that modify code on the system?
