I walked into Cabela’s tonight for the first time in 5 years. I notice the sign also says Bass Pro. Huh. Whatever. I walk in and they say “welcome to outdoor world!” Uh, ok. Three names? Wasn’t the merger a decade ago? There are more employees than customers. Total crickets. 77,000 empty square feet. The dude at the entry gives me the hard sell to join their rewards program, while the outside air is still on my neck. I’m just here for a knife dude. I won’t be back for another 5 years. I wrangle from his grasp. As we go to leave they push me to join their rewards program yet again. What a trainwreck. This is what poor management looks like.

@isolatedrook I need Surveillance Lens mats for MIDA uogrades. I have it tracked. The game refuses to spawn me anywhere other than Complex.

5th spawn in a row on Dire Marsh. The game knows where you want to go and you can't convince me otherwise. This spawn is even kind of mild compared to most.

@Ziegler_Dev Recon needs a buff. Why does Thief have better intel kit? Change Recon's ultimate to mirror Thief's goggles: Runner/UESC silhouettes at last known locations, color coded by shields. Thief keeps the goggles, but loot boxes are shown as red pings like Recon's current ultimate.

We have a lot of convos around the game going right now, but one thing we've aligned on and will be doing for the next Cryo window is making Subroutines a 100% drop from each vault. Thanks for the feedback we'll keep hammering on more updates.

@MallowTheQueen They can't make Recon's kit actually look cool in a cinematic because her ultimate is borderline trash. Use it in the open and you're telegraphing your own location. Fighting a team but UESC reinforcements are nearby? Good luck figuring out who's who in all of the chaos.

1. Most of the people who rent these tables are doing it for yard sales. Second most common reason is for birthday parties. 2. We've only had one customer return the tables later than expected. She rented several for a bachelorette party, and ended up losing her thumb riding a mechanical bull. Gnarly. She kept in contact with us during the 2 or 3 weeks it took for her to bring them back. Her friend eventually returned them. We didn't charge her extra and were much more worried about her than the tables. 3. 90% of people pick it up from our porch and drop if off. Occasionally we'll do drop off and pick up. We'll usually charge $10 extra for that. We've never had tables stolen by customers or off our porch. We had some returned when we were out of town and when we returned two weeks later, they were still there. 4. The rentals are overwhelmingly for the weekend. What this means is that a lot of people hold onto them for a week. We don't need them back Monday morning, so if they drop them off on Wednesday, that's great. 5. There's no paperwork, this is a low-stakes, high-trust arrangement. 6. Most people rent multiple. More people rent 4 than 1. If you only need one table, than you'll buy one or make do without it. I also wouldn't want to do this for $15/interaction. When the average ticket if $40-60, that makes it more worthwhile. 6. We wipe the tables off but we've never had one returned dirty. Some come back dusty from the yard sales but that's it. 7. There's better ways to make money. I run my own company, so I understand the basics of business. However, I still think this is one of the easiest. You could scale with chairs and set-up and take-down or adding other options, but I'm not interested in that. The money pays for date night and we've met great people which is nice. That's all we want to get out of it. How to make Recon relevant in Marathon. Replace her tick pod with a Trophy System. Gives her unique defensive utility & helps solve the grenade spam META at the same time 🤝

I think Bungie originally had the Thief and Recon abilities swapped... Recon's ultimate should display enemies the way Thief's goggles do currently: color of shield and a physical outline at their last tagged location. Thief's goggles should display red pings for loot locations.

@captive_dreamer The smart ones lie about everything. The dumb ones have the collective memory of a goldfish. This is useful because the smart ones can easily lead the dumb ones from one outrage to the next, perpetually keeping them loud and angry about every little thing.

Insane to watch them completely retcon an event that happened not even a year ago, we all saw the wall to wall celebrations from the left when Charlie was killed. They lie like they breathe.

@AboveTP Disagree, spider bot is great for flushing hitting people mid-fight when they're focused on heals. Your average Sponsored kit player doesn't even shoot it. The "Intel" part of her kit needs work. Thief's loot goggles are more clear vs. Recon's limited info on your own HUD.

Marathon fans are left wondering "what happened?" as the Cryo Archive event that they expected to reignite the community has resulted in Marathon's worst weekend, ever. Its Saturday peak was lower than Friday (AGAIN) and it was also lower than the previous Monday and every single weekday before that. An important note is that the Cryo Archive is ONLY available on the weekend and it's still struggling to get players back online. Spiraling.

@solgob_ I came to this same conclusion during Final Shape in D2. No time or interest in learning the raid to beat the story, so I missed my character's finale of the Destiny saga. Cryo is cool and I'm enjoying the streams, but I know I won't ever play it. And I guess that's ok. IDK.

Marathon from the viewpoint of a competitive-spirited gamer that is older: Marathon is a very good game. I don’t consider myself a “sweat” these days but I have competed in shooters at a high level my entire life, always reaching the top ranks in games like Halo, StarCraft, Warcraft 3, CS, League of Legends and Apex. As well as attending LAN tournies in a few of those games. (Also currently loving Deadlock) I would have been absolutely in love with Marathon as a young fellow with more time to spare, as some of you probably are. I’m 35 now, on top of all of my responsibilities, I have like two hours a day on average to play video games. Some days, zero. And the following point is why Marathon will never be huge and might actually suffer greatly and ween off. Which genuinely makes me sad. It is simply too time consuming and unforgiving. I can’t even imagine trying to play this game as someone who isn’t inherently talented at shooters but still plays them for fun. It’s probably so brutal that it simply isn’t worth your time. While Cryo Archive is SO sick, it is a perfect example of this. I guess I’m just worried that one of the best multiplayer games I’ve ever played is going to suffer from the thing that also makes it so cool. 😂 I would love to be wrong and for Marathon to go on and gain a larger playerbase and keep releasing badass content for years.

I wonder if Marathon needs to implement a loadout max value for some of the early maps. As some teams are getting absolutely juiced from Cryo and possibly ranked I can’t imagine newer players who are just trying to do contracts on perimeter are going to have much fun if they just get farmed by dudes with gold loadouts What do you guys think?
