@zerofoxgiven21 Same thing happened to me, but it was Endo who wanted me to see a psych. She said TSH was normal. felt my neck and discovered that nodules on my thyroid. I had biopsies, thankfully it was negative. I fired her, found a new endo who diagnosed me with Hashimoto‘s

100%. Went to my PCP w/ concerns about my thyroid & ask for a referral to an endo. He refused, insisted there was nothing wrong w/ me. Said that it would look bad & be embarrassing to him to send me to a specialist when there was nothing wrong. Conveniently, he wanted to put me on Prozac & give me a referral to a psychiatrist who also happened to be a partner in his practice. Told him to KMA & walked out. Got the referral directly from the insurance company, and wouldn't you know, I had an enlarged thyroid. Endo saw it as soon as he walked in, & a scan confirmed it. Never went back to that PCP.

WTF has happened to primary care/family medicine? Has anyone else noticed they have morphed into vaccine and SSRI's street dealers?

@xevekiah Leave! My ex-husband was this way. I stayed with him for 15 years and he never changed. He would verbally and mentally abuse me, then he would say he's sorry and it wouldn't happen again.

My boyfriend humiliated me in front of our friends this weekend, and I can’t stop replaying it in my head. We’ve been together 3 years, friends since high school, so this isn’t someone new, which makes it worse. We went camping with friends, he had been drinking, and while we were setting up a bug net he suddenly started taking it down. I thought he was adjusting it so I helped, then he snapped: “You took it down, so we’re not using it.” I was confused, said I thought it was him, and he just brushed me off with “whatever” and walked away. That was the first moment something felt off. Later I was starting a fire to cook and asked a friend to grab a stick. Out of nowhere my boyfriend jumped in saying, “I’m no idiot, but here,” then started aggressively messing with the fire. Then he looked at me and said, “This is the hot part of the fire. This is the cooler part. You fucking got that?” in front of everyone. I froze. I didn’t even know what to say. When my friend came back, he started telling everyone I talk to him like he’s an idiot, so I repeated exactly what he said to me, right in front of him. He tried to defend himself, I told him to stop, and he stormed off to sleep in the car. The next day he barely spoke to me, talked to everyone else but me. When we got home he said, “Sorry I lost my temper,” then immediately wanted to “talk” about how I’m mean to him. That’s when it hit me this isn’t new. He lashes out, minimizes it, then turns it back on me every time. Now he’s saying he’ll stop drinking and wants to fix things, but he’s said that before and I don’t know if I believe him anymore. I feel humiliated, confused, exhausted. Part of me wants to leave, but part of me keeps thinking what if I’m overreacting? Has anyone been through this? Did it get better, or did you leave?

My dad’s birthday is next week—he’ll be 78 years old. Ever since he turned 70, I’ve been having issues with my siblings because they always insist on bringing a cake. I don’t like the idea of him eating cake because it contains a lot of sugar, which isn’t good for his age. Every year, after some arguments and back-and-forth, they still go ahead and get the cake for him. So this year, I told them clearly that nobody should bring a cake—that we should agree on something else. I’m the firstborn, so I expected them to at least consider my opinion. But since last week, they’ve stopped picking my calls. The funny thing is, my dad is the kind of person who will eat anything you give him. He doesn’t really consider his age, even though he still looks quite strong and healthy. And honestly, I’m serious about this. This time around, I won’t allow my dad to eat any cake. I'm trying to protect him from sugar. Am I being too controlling?

I shared my wifi password with my neighbour and he's been using it for 5 months. Today I asked to be added to their Netflix but he said that its his wife who pays for the Netflix and she refused. Well,I cut them off from my wifi and he has the audacity to come ask why I did so

“How does it feel to grow old?”. Like the words just came out. He laughed harder than I expected. Said no one had ever asked him that. Then he got quiet. “It’s fluid. Terrifying, actually. There are days I think about leaving it all, my kids, my wife. Just gone.”

Two nights ago, I was at a bar just nursing a drink when I saw this man in his 60s. Total presence full head of white hair, very poised. We happened to be drinking the same brand, so I moved over, exchanged some pleasantries, and just asked him straight up:

There is a witches convention coming to town and there’s an internal debate amongst a group at my Church. Half of us want to go the convention to pray outside it with Rosary prayers & hymns. The other half are fearful & say it could put us in spiritual danger. What do you say?

@TiffaniMarie483 It might be a requirement. The CDC strongly urges healthcare providers to provide contraceptive counseling before the woman resume sexual activity after childbirth. There might be someone who answers “I don’t know”. Maybe the patient is to embarrassed to ask about it.

@SoCalEdgyGal @ThrillaRilla369 Well. Spoken like a true tyrant. The right message to send to kids is that their mental health is important. You should teach them how to take care of themselves. People who don’t practice self-care are often the same people who suffer from depression or anxiety.

@ThrillaRilla369 Absolutely not… Missing school or missing work for an emotional day is the wrong message to send to kids you’re raising… They need to stand tall, put their shoulders back and learn how to deal with personal adversity. My two sons were not raised to take the easy way out Ever!!

Nobody Warns You About the Weird Stuff By Michael J. Whelan Nobody really prepares you for losing the love of your life. They tell you it will be sad. They tell you it will be hard. What they don’t tell you is how unbelievably weird it is. For years there were two of you in the house. Two opinions about everything. Two voices talking over each other about what movie to watch, where the car keys went, and whether the thermostat was trying to freeze us to death. Then one day… it’s just you. And suddenly the entire house feels like it’s looking at you saying, “Well… now what?” Her toothbrush is still sitting there like she’s coming back in five minutes. Her phone still rings; POTENTIAL SPAM. Her favorite chair still holds the shape of where she used to sit. Even the animals seem confused. My dog looks at me like, “Okay boss… you broke Mom. When is she coming back?” I’d like to know that myself. But here’s the strange part about grief. It doesn’t stay sad all the time. Sometimes it sneaks up on you in ridiculous ways. You’ll be crying because you miss her voice… and then suddenly remember the time she tried to parallel park and nearly took out a mailbox, a shrub, and a small portion of municipal infrastructure. Or the time she insisted she wasn’t hungry and then slowly ate half your dinner like a stealthy food burglar. Love leaves you with those memories. And the annoying thing is… they’re funny. You’ll laugh. Then feel guilty for laughing. Then realize she’d probably be laughing harder than you are. What you really lose when your partner dies isn’t just a spouse. You lose your witness. The only person on earth who saw the entire ridiculous movie of your life and somehow still decided you were worth sticking around for. She knew every dumb thing I’d ever done. And trust me, my list is long. Yet every night before we fell asleep she’d still say, “I love you.” That’s the part that echoes the loudest now. So yes… losing the love of your life will break your heart. But if you were lucky enough to share a lifetime with someone who loved you despite your bad jokes, strange habits, and questionable life decisions… Then even after they’re gone, somehow the love still manages to sneak in a few laughs. And honestly… that feels exactly like something she would do.

@oelma__ Why only a single mention of it if it’s so important? Loving your neighbors seemed like a much bigger take away. The bible also says no eating pork but we most still do. These outliers were likely added for safety reasons in the time they were written.
