@funnytiktoq @RoflGPT What evidence do you have those dogs are his? I suspect you have zero evidence and are just looking for excuses to be angry at white men.

when i was in 6th grade i had a gigantic crush on my math teacher, so a couple months into the school year i gathered up the courage to tell him "you know, you're very attractive" (ooh big girl words) This man stopped smiling immediately, looked me dead in my face and said "don’t ever say that to me again" and walked away and THAT IS EXACTLY THE WAY GROWN MEN SHOULD ACT WHEN MINORS SAY THINGS LIKE THAT. it hurt little me's feelings BAD and sometimes that is what it takes to not be a weirdo

I became a writer because I thought making stuff up would be easy. Now I'm researching police procedures, learning Victorian funeral customs, and trying to figure out how a serial killer would dispose of a garden gnome 🤣

Objectively useful writing advice: Make a list of the crutch words you tend to lean on the most, and every time you edit a chapter, look them up individually. I just used "though" sixteen times in a single chapter, man 🤦

@wealthmoose I can’t remember the last time I had a steak. It must be years, since I know I’ve had them before. Who eats steak now? Not the poors, unless someone else is paying.

Mark Carney says families spend $800/month on groceries. 4 steaks at Costco: $78 That’s ONE meal for a family of 4. That’s 10% of his monthly estimate gone in one dinner. The man who expenses gourmet meals to taxpayers just told you what groceries cost. He has no idea. 🇨🇦🥴 #CdnPoli #Carney #Groceries

My roommate and I have an unspoken rule: Don’t touch food you didn’t buy. Last Sunday I spent half my day meal prepping because work has been brutal lately. Cooked chicken pasta, packed 6 containers, labeled them for the week, put them in the fridge. Wednesday night I get home already excited because I skipped lunch and was starving. Gone. Not one. All 6 containers gone. I texted my roommate thinking maybe her family came over and there was some weird misunderstanding. She replies: “Oh yeah 😭 my boyfriend has been staying here and he LOVES your cooking. I told him to help himself because you made so much.” I just stared at my phone. Then she hit me with: “Don’t worry though, he said next time he wants the spicy one again.” NEXT TIME??? You mean the meal prep I paid for, cooked for 2 hours, and planned my work week around has become a subscription service for your unemployed boyfriend??? Am I dramatic or is this actually insane roommate behavior ⁉️

Dear Gen X, I’ve been watching 80s movies and I just need to know…WHERE WERE YOUR PARENTS?? Every child was just wandering the earth unsupervised like a raccoon with house keys. Riding bikes across town at midnight, fighting ghosts, investigating murders, befriending cryptids, hacking government computers for funsies… And the parents were ALWAYS “out of town” or “working late” while the only adult-adjacent supervision was some random 16-year-old who got dragged into the chaos. No cell phones. No helmets. No adult supervision. Just vibes, life lessons, and several near-death experiences. You all weren’t “raised.” You were lightly monitored feral creatures with a bike and unresolved trauma. I’m genuinely shocked there are enough of you left to populate an entire generation.

My neighbor had gross income in 2025 of $35,890 . Her largest expense is rent, followed by food, then utilities. She is living within her means and not complaining. If you are earning $36K /year or more and complaining about the cost of living, perhaps you have a budgeting issue.

had a girl over tonight and i was in the other room feeding my cat and just talking to him like i always do. telling him i love him, that he's my best friend, the usual. nothing out of the ordinary for me. she comes to the doorway and goes "i'm gonna head home, the way you're talking to your cat is freaking me out." i said "ok." like genuinely just ok, drive safe. i didn't even try to explain myself or walk it back. that's just how i talk to him. he's my cat. i love him. and honestly good. the right person is going to walk in here and see me baby talking my cat and think it's cute. or at minimum not be weirded out enough to leave. that's a pretty low bar and.......

I am once again begging folks to understand the difference between ‘I don’t like this’ and ‘Nobody likes this’. You are not the main character of the world. Readers and authors have different tastes. You are not the arbiter of what authors should and should not put into books.

Being part of a generation that was told “Wikipedia is not a source” makes it genuinely baffling to me that jobs are now telling people to just use ChatGPT for everything.

@OrevaZSN Oh yeah, the research part. Books are the best. But sometimes articles are necessary. The profs I had certainly thought so.

@OrevaZSN I’m certain my best essays were handwritten first drafts, then typed out on a computer, printed out, edited by me with a pencil, then again on the computer.

“How did people write essays before ChatGPT?” You all are young, but there was this thing called doing research, staring at a blank Word document, thinking, writing, rewriting, suffering, and persevering.
