Excited to share that I've joined @aztecFND as Network Lead! I'll be working closely with validators and helping steward the governance process. I'll be retaining my role at @zkv_xyz to run validators on other networks. Grateful to be part of both missions!

Aztec Alpha V5 is live, and so is Shield (by @humntech): a proof-of-humanity bridge for moving assets between Ethereum and Aztec. Shield lets users bridge assets while proving the sender is legitimate and the funds are compliant, all without revealing their identities. Bridge USDC to Aztec now at shield.human.tech

Does @aztecnetwork governance dashboard actually work? I see no voting power and no withdrawal availability, even though I have 150k tokens there. Had to manually call a contract to do anything.

Sorry to hear that! We're working on new docs that should point out more important information like slashing conditions. Let me know if you need any help with that robust infra. We're open to ideas, but also have a lot of experience ourselves in setting this up. What discussion channel would you suggest? This is something we've heard and are discussing, but we haven't landed on anything yet.

I’ll have to look into it with more detail but relative to the other validators I run: ethereum and starknet, only the Aztec validator got slashed for ~20k AZTEC while I was moving and was temporarily disconnected. This was a mistake on my part, I should have been more thorough checking slashing offenses. I’m rectifying that and building more robust infra. I’ll be back as a validator soon and more active on discussion channels. Would also appreciate Discord/telegram not being the main discussion channels for validators <3

Honest question: what’s the current status of @aztecnetwork ? I’ve run Ethereum and Starknet validators for years and participated in the Aztec CCA. My takeaway at the time was that the slashing conditions felt surprisingly harsh for early operators. Fast forward to today and I’m not even sure I could confidently explain where the network is in its rollout. Not a criticism just genuinely curious. Have I just missed the updates, or has communication around the launch been a bit fragmented?

More engineers are hacking again... They want to go to the lowest level and build their own version of the consumer products they use. AI is the driver. Deep tech (in this example think all the sensors Whoop has) is more accessible than ever, and shipping polished consumer UX on top of it has never been easier. @aztecnetwork is another perfect example. Not the easiest to use yet, but the bones are amazing. AI unlocked a wave of devs building real products on top of it.

Aztec Labs has acquired Obsidion, the team behind @ZKPassport. The Obsidion team will continue to develop ZKPassport while also leading new consumer product developments. The ZKPassport protocol will remain open source.

It's become so easy to identify if texts are written by AI... and the volume of the things I read these days that is, is insane. 👨‍💻 I don't know how to feel about it. On the one hand it feels disingenuous and somewhat unprofessional. But then again... I do it, but gave the LLMs specific instructions on my writing style to make it feel more authentic. Is it OK / Acceptable that so many publications & technical write-ups are fully written by AI?

Working with people who are **actually** want @aztecnetwork to succeed is so inspiring. I'm never the most motivated or smartest person in the room, we all push each other to achieve greatness. So many learning opportunities. Time to ship!⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️

I don't necessarily believe in "USD above everything". The Euro has it's place, I happily keep my money in Euro and transact with it. (and I am mostly outside of Europe) What I do have issues with is EU policymakers sticking to what they know. There's not enough willingness to engage with new industries and innovation, and that needs to change. Overall I'm bullish EU and put my money where my mouth is. @euacc and @euacchq are pushing for changes that will massively improve the investing climate, especially for startups. Europe generally doesn't chase the next big tech thing but goes deep on what it knows best instead, industrial expertise, pharma, and engineering that the rest of the world relies on.

And yet, the entire developing world is adopting the dollar thanks to USDT. This is the next petrodollar, it's so obvious to anyone who has been on the ground. I have not met a single person outside of europe who wants to keep their money or transact in euro. In fact, even european sartups are now raising in dollars, paying in dollars and invoicing in dollars, only using euros to pay taxes. Wake up europe!
