The Sunday Times has found Tulip Siddiq lived in a Hampstead home gifted to her family by an ally of her aunt — the ex-PM of 🇧🇩who now faces allegations of corruption and crimes against humanity.
However, the regime-linked north London properties enjoyed by the Treasury minister for tackling financial crime and her immediate family don’t stop there.
1) She *currently* lives in a £2.1m home owned by a senior Awami League member
2) She still owns a flat gifted to her by a developer linked to the Awami League (h/t @rafeuddin_ )
3) Her mum lives in a £1.2m flat gifted to her by son of “corrupt” billionaire and Awami League politician now in custody
4) Her mum and sister lived in £500k flat owned by another Awami League politician now in custody
5) She owns £860k Cricklewood home: no link but Siddiq broke rules by failing to declare renting it out when she moved into Awami official’s house two years ago.

Banning UNRWA is not just about allegations of staff members bring connected to Hamas. It’s about the fact that UNRWA legitimises Palestinians’ refugee status and the ‘right to return’ to what is now Israel. There is more to this than meets the eye.

The vote by the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) against @UNRWA this evening is unprecedented and sets a dangerous precedent. It opposes the UN Charter and violates the State of Israel’s obligations under international law. This is the latest in the ongoing campaign to discredit UNRWA and delegitimize its role towards providing human-development assistance and services to #Palestine Refugees. These bills will only deepen the suffering of Palestinians, especially in #Gaza where people have been going through more than a year of sheer hell. It will deprive over 650,000 girls & boys there from education, putting at risk an entire generation of children. These bills increase the suffering of the Palestinians & are nothing less than collective punishment. Putting an end to UNRWA & its services will not strip the Palestinians from their refugee status. That status is protected by another UN General Assembly resolution until a fair and lasting solution is found to the plight of the Palestinians. Failing to push back these bills will weaken our common multilateral mechanism established after World War 2. This should be a concern to all.

Nothing here is verifiable. As int journos are denied unfettered access to Gaza, it’s striking these Israeli allegations about the only journos in N Gaza, come as the IDF is accused by multiple human rights groups of committing grave violations of int law
