@B_ELRUFAI @elrufai Can we be compliance for once in this country and put emotion aside. Two point, if the doctor want to see your father, chairman permission must be given and no food is allowed once it's past 6:30pm. If you tried within the allowed time and access was denied?
English

Press Release: Our father, Mallam Nasir @elrufai, is still being held by the ICPC. Today, 15 May 2026, we witnessed two distinct yet equally serious attacks on his basic rights. First, his personal Doctor visited the ICPC at about 3pm to discuss the results of medical tests recently conducted on our father. Officials at the agency blocked the doctor from seeing him, claiming that written permission from the ICPC Chairman was required. This directly flouts a clear court order granting Mallam Nasir El‑Rufai unrestricted access to his doctors.
Second, his wife, Aunty Aichatou, brought his evening meal at around 7pm as she normally does. ICPC personnel turned her away, saying they had orders not to permit food deliveries after 6:30pm. This arbitrary rule is no less offensive than blocking his right to medical care.
These acts are an outright assault on the rule of law and a clear violation of our father's constitutional and human rights. No lawful detention justifies denying medical access or refusing basic family care based on an arbitrary curfew fixed by the ICPC. Shame on them as an institution.
We demand that all his constitutional rights be fully respected. We will no longer accept this pattern of intimidation dressed up as protocol. The ICPC must abide by the very laws it claims to enforce.

@AishaYesufu Abeg someone should checkup on @AishaYesufu because this one she's silent.

Fellow Nigerians, good morning.
I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.
Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances.
We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal.
More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism.
We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power.
Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.
Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them.
However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.
Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated.
And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions.
There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline?
Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from.
Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

@DeeOneAyekooto The best card for adelabu is Senate, anything beyond that will lead to failure and giving PDP a strong power to overtake APC again. The guy has done completely nothing as a minister of power, so giving him a whole state will subject to further damage of the state.

The Attack on the GUO Bus Along Benin–Ore Expressway: Condemnable.
I received the devastating report of a violent attack on a GUO transport bus travelling along the Benin–Ore Expressway, where armed kidnappers reportedly ambushed the vehicle, killed the driver, and abducted all passengers into a nearby bush. Sadly, this has become an increasingly distressing and recurring story.
This is yet another heartbreaking reminder of the worsening insecurity on our highways and across the nation. No society can truly thrive under such conditions of fear and uncertainty. The impact of this crisis now cuts across all sectors of national life and development.
Small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) are being severely affected. Transporters are losing passengers, while traders and business owners are losing customers who can no longer travel safely to access goods and services. Economic activity is being quietly strangled by insecurity.
We must urgently confront this situation and take decisive steps to improve security across the country, especially for ordinary Nigerians who cannot afford the option of air travel. We must rethink and strengthen our national security architecture.
The protection of lives and property must remain the foremost responsibility of the state. Anything less is unacceptable.
May God protect our people and grant comfort to the families of those affected. -PO

@instablog9ja The quote “Stinginess is the gateway to poverty and giving is the gateway to prosperity. Every poor man is stingy” that quote is wrong. In justification, a stingy person suppose to save and invest wisely not giving charity even though giver never lack but not in all situationship

You have to pay correct tithe and quality offering if you don’t want to experience hardship — Pastor David Ibiyeomie
Popular Nigerian cleric David Ibiyeomie has stirred reactions after stressing that tithing remains the foundation for anyone seeking covenant wealth.
Speaking during a sermon, the pastor explained that wealth built on covenant principles cannot stand without first paying tithe, which he described as the foundation.
“You can’t say you are walking in covenant if the foundation is not in place. The foundation for the covenant is tithe. Trying to walk in covenant wealth without tithing is like trying to build a house without a foundation,” he said.
Quoting The Bible from Malachi 3:10, he urged believers to bring all their tithe to the storehouse so there would be provision, adding that people must “pay correct tithe if you don’t want your life to be tight.”
The cleric went further to reveal the scale of his personal giving, noting that he gives what he described as “quality offerings” regularly.
“The minimum offerings I give on Sundays is $12,000 and the minimum I give on week days is $2,000. If you don’t give me offering I’ll still be stinkingly rich,” he stated.
According to him, generosity plays a major role in financial prosperity, while stinginess leads to lack. “Stinginess is the gateway to poverty and giving is the gateway to prosperity. Every poor man is stingy,” he added.

🚨 Mikel goes off on the owners:
“This is where these owners have taken us. They’ve taken a club so successful, the culture, mentality.. the owner we had before, he had love for the club but also the fans, the community, he created jobs. These owners have spent money but young players who take 4-5 years, we don’t have time, we HAVE to hold these owners ACCOUNTABLE, the owners are making the decisions, we have to WIN, the fans demand that, we DEMAND that!”
“We don’t want 10-15 years without the league, because slowly but surely when you start taking yourself out the equation, next season next season next season, slowly but surely you then go 10,25,20 years without winning the league!”

Yesterday, I honoured the invitation of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation at the launch of its landmark report titled “Strengthening the Nexus Between Democracy and Economic Growth in Nigeria.”
The report and the robust panel discussions that followed did not just present data; they reiterated the necessary truth that we have failed in critical areas of development: health, education, and pulling our people out of poverty. Over the past decade, our democratic progress has weakened while the economic well-being of our people has continued to decline.
Consensus thinking from the event is that our leadership recruitment process must change for democracy to thrive. The recruitment must be based on competence, capacity, compassion, character, and commitment to serving the well-being of the people. And for it to thrive, our institutions must be strong, independent, and accountable to the people.
We must rebuild trust in our institutions, restore discipline in Leadership, and ensure that governance translates into measurable improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

BREAKING: Credible information reaching us as of 9:00 PM tonight indicates that Nafiu Bala Gombe is currently at Transcorp, mobilising state chairmen to accompany him to INEC tomorrow in an attempt to legitimise his position.
Notably, the Abia and Edo State chairmen have issued statements suspending their congresses under questionable circumstances.
This raises serious concerns. The public must remain vigilant and demand full transparency.

N1.5M, a term for a child in JSS 1, means N4.5M in a year.
In 6 years, that is 27 million.
Add 1 million naira registration when you gain admission and at least another 1 million naira WAEC and graduation ceremony expenses in SS 3, and you have 29 million naira to finish secondary school.
I didn’t include cultural day, excursion, and other sundry fees for six years.
A child who goes to this kind of secondary school will most likely go to a matching university.
So, if the university is such that they pay 5 million naira per session, in four years, you will have paid 20 million naira.
That means;
Secondary School - N29M
University - N20M
Before the child got to secondary school, the primary school was 600k per term.
In one year, it is 1.8M.
In 6 years, it is N10.8M.
In that same school, Nursery is 480k per term.
In a year, it is 1.44M.
In three years, it is 4.32M.
In that same school, preschool is 450k per term.
In one year, it is 1.35M.
Everything I have written here is published fact and not speculation, apart from the university where I made an assumption.
And this is just an average school, for average Nigerians. I am not talking about those other schools that pay outrageous fees, which should be exclusively for politicians and their likes.
That means;
Preschool - 1.35M
Nursery - 4.32M
Primary - 10.8M
Secondary - 29M
University - 20M
Total = N65,470,000
Over 65 million naira in school fees.
For me, this is a worthy investment if you can afford it.
But here is the thing.
The same parent who paid 65 million naira will also pay 2.5 million naira to someone in NYSC so that the child can be posted to serve in Abuja.
The same parent will pay another 1.5 million naira to a senator to buy a slot in the almighty federal job.
That brings the total investment to 69,470,000.
Do I have a problem with this type of investment?
Not at all.
But let’s now check the ROI.
The federal job you bought, sorry, you secured, pays 500k per month as salary.
In a year, that is 6 million naira.
At that rate, it will take more than 11 years to recover the 69 million naira invested.
Some civil servants are making this kind of investment.
Some business owners who make their money legitimately are making this kind of investment.
My worry is if parents who make this kind of investment ever sat down to run the numbers and still believe it is the best for them!
Could this be one of the reasons some parents take BP drugs every day?
