@CollegeDems @jstreetu Big tent of what, exactly? Because it isn't Democrats. You literally banned Democrats from entering. All for a self avowed communist who has admitted that he wants to turn the Democratic party into something else. Who said his ultimate goal is a communist revolution.

College Democrats of America
Thank you for your support! We are proud to be a big tent. Democrats exist on a spectrum and we hope to represent as many voices as possible. We are proud to have our convention be cosponsored by @jstreetu, who has led the charge for peace that isn’t exclusive to either side.
Jeremy Ben-Ami@JeremyBenAmi

This weekend, J Street U co-sponsored the College Democrats of America convention. Since it was announced that Hasan Piker would be speaking, some have sought to portray our participation as an endorsement of his views. That is simply false. J Street disagrees with much of what Hasan Piker says and with the way he says it. We won't hesitate to say so. But we also reject the notion that the right answer to his invitation is to abandon the very spaces where the next generation of Democratic leaders is debating these issues. Our mission is not to preach to the converted. It is to ensure that a pro-Israel, pro-peace voice is heard wherever the future of American politics is being shaped. If we leave those conversations to others, we shouldn't be surprised when the loudest and most polarizing voices dominate them. Let's also dispense with the misinformation. J Street U was one of many conference sponsors. Our sponsorship amounted to a couple thousand dollars for an exhibit table. We had no role in choosing speakers, no approval over the program and no say in who was invited to address the conference. Suggesting otherwise is either uninformed or intentionally misleading. Some of our critics don't object to this particular conference. They object to J Street. They have spent years trying to convince people that there is no room in American Jewish life or Democratic politics for a pro-Israel movement that also insists on Palestinian rights, opposes the occupation and believes diplomacy is stronger than perpetual war. They won't succeed. Too many people want young Americans to believe there are only two choices: defend every action of the Israeli government or reject Israel altogether. That is a false choice, and it is one J Street was founded to reject. We will continue to show up. We will continue to engage. We will continue making the case for a future in which Israelis and Palestinians can both live in freedom, security and peace. And we won't be intimidated into surrendering that conversation to voices we disagree with – or to critics who would rather see us stay home.

Of course this guy likes Mao. Let's not forget who Mao was: a communist responsible for the deaths of more than 70 million people through starvation, forced labor, and state-sponsored executions. There's no room in the Democratic Party for anyone who embraces Mao — and no room for Piker, period.

MORE: Iran previously claimed in May 2025 that it had developed a maneuverable reentry vehicle capability, and it is possible that Iran has deployed missiles with that capability in the current conflict. Iran introduced an upgraded version of the Haj Qassem missile with a maneuverable reentry vehicle in May 2025 known as “Qassem Basir.” IRGC-affiliated media posted footage of Iranian forces launching Haj Qassem missiles at Jordan and other Gulf states on July 18. It is unclear if Iranian forces fired the Qassem Basir variant, however. An Iranian missile attack on a base in Jordan killed two US service members on July 17. A third service member is missing in action. Unspecified US officials told Western media that the attack took place at Muwaffaq Salti Airbase in Azraq, Jordan. It is not clear which missiles Iran used in the attack. Two US officials said that Iran struck the base earlier this week and the US service members suffered minor injuries. The People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Russia are likely supporting Iranian efforts to target US bases in the region. US officials told the Wall Street Journal on July 18 that they are concerned that the PRC and Russia are supporting recent Iranian targeting of US assets. Both countries have supported Iranian targeting during the conflict thus far. Iran used an advanced reconnaissance satellite purchased from the PRC in 2024 to target US military assets and bases across the Middle East in spring 2026, according to the Financial Times in April 2026. The Washington Post separately reported in March 2026 that Russia was providing Iran with the locations of US military assets, including warships and aircraft, to support Iranian attacks against US forces. Russia is also reportedly sharing advanced drone tactics with Iran to support Iranian attacks against US forces and assets. Iran likely continues to rely on its key partners to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of its attacks. Iran struck a Kuwaiti power and desalination plant on July 18, likely in response to an alleged US strike on an Iranian desalination plant near Jask, Hormozgan Province, on July 17. Iranian regime officials have repeatedly warned in recent days that Iran would attack “regional infrastructure” in response to any US attacks on Iranian critical infrastructure. The Iranian attack on the Kuwaiti power and desalination plant on July 18 marks the second attack that Iran has conducted on such a plant in Kuwait in the past 48 hours. Iran also struck an unspecified Kuwaiti oil facility on July 18.

Iran Update Special Report, July 18, 2026: Iran is adapting to US defenses by firing high-speed, maneuverable missiles at US bases in the region, which highlights the threat that the advancement of Iran's ballistic missile program poses to US national security interests. Iranian leaders have expressed interest since at least the Iranian strikes on Israel in April and October 2024 in employing maneuverable reentry vehicles in order to improve the relatively low accuracy of Iranian missiles. Other Key Takeaways: An Iranian missile attack on a base in Jordan killed two US service members on July 17. Unspecified US officials told Western media that the attack took place at Muwaffaq Salti Airbase in Azraq, Jordan. The People's Republic of China (PRC) and Russia are likely supporting Iranian efforts to target US bases in the region. US officials told the Wall Street Journal on July 18 that they are concerned that the PRC and Russia are supporting recent Iranian targeting of US assets. Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and other senior Iranian officials, including members of the negotiating delegation, have publicly declared that the US–Iran memorandum of understanding (MoU) is no longer in effect. Iran and the United States interpreted the MoU's fifth clause about the Strait of Hormuz in fundamentally different ways, which contributed to the MoU's collapse. Iran struck a Kuwaiti power and desalination plant on July 18, likely in response to an alleged US strike on an Iranian desalination plant near Jask, Hormozgan Province, on July 17. Iran launched a ballistic missile at a US base in Saudi Arabia, marking the first Iranian attack on Saudi territory in nearly three months. Iran also targeted US facilities in Bahrain and Jordan on July 17 and 18. The United States has struck additional bridges and roads around Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, since ISW-CTP's last data cutoff at 2:00 PM ET on July 17.

These are very serious accusations! You should probably let the person you are making these accusations about confront you to talk about if they are true or false! Why not have a convo with @TheOmniLiberal about this if you are so sure of your claims? Why wont you let him provide context and challenge assertions in a format you cannot workshop talking points?

@DarkLordoftheIT @TheWarMonitor That's what I mean. The invasion of Iraq took 6 months of build up. And that was with a land route. If anything the Marine units might take a couple islands, but that would leave them susceptible to constant barrages from deeper inland. And for what gain?

Unfortunately we’re barred from going into the event because @hasanthehun spammed texts to complain to the vice president of @CollegeDems, Cameron Landin. This is despite my community putting over $1,000,000 into canvassing and fundraising for Dems against Republicans in the last 5 years, and Hasan doing nothing besides attacking moderate Dems and calling them “homo fascists” when they don’t support their anti-Dem candidates. :( Video incoming.
