Every company will become a portfolio of AI brains. Almost none know how to build one. @latentius and I joined @a16z @speedrun to build @ThirdbrainLabs -- the post-training layer that turns your data and expertise into models you actually own. Data in. Your model out. Continuously improved. No heavy consultancy or bundling different data and training solutions - it's about time we had a scalable, technical platform delivering specialized intelligence for all.

Grabbed coffee with an LP and former colleague yesterday who asked what's next for The Council in 2027. Was taken aback by my response off the top of my head! For the past 3 yrs of building this VC firm, it's been zero-to-one on everything: 🛞 systematizing The Council Angels into a flywheel and solid sister company to our VC firm, bringing on an incredible leader (@laVaneSamaniego) to run it 📈 launching and deploying Fund I, seeing our success catapult well above top decile (per Carta) 🤝 slowly and methodically bringing on the right partner into the firm (@rachtsui) who has upleveled all of our operations and become a valued thought partner and co-investor 🎙️ launching @first_builders_ podcast as an additional flywheel to attract the founders we want to back well before they spin out of their day jobs to dive in This is the first year my main goal is to execute on all the cylinders we've already built, focusing less on zero-to-one building and more on showing up consistently and boldly all year. As part of that, I am also saying no to more! Not every conference, program, or meeting is aligned or worth the time, and that's OK.

Why I avoid competitive markets (usually) We see 1,000+ pitches/month at @HustleFundVC. Many founders obsess over competition for the wrong reasons. Here's what they should actually worry about: 👇

Marc Andreessen: "The job is not actually the atomic unit of what happens in the workplace. The atomic unit of what happens in the workplace is the task." "A job is a bundle of tasks." “Everybody wants to talk about job loss, but really what you want to look at is task loss.” "As the tasks change enough, then that’s when the jobs change." "Ten years from now, is your job title coder, or coder-designer-product manager, or is it just, ‘I build products,’ or is it just, ‘I tell the AI how to build products.’ Whatever that job is called, it’s going to be incredibly important, because the people doing that job are going to be orchestrating the AI." @pmarca on Lenny's Podcast with @lennysan

@jefielding So true! 3 days, I did the full e-commerce website with @lovable, @elevenlabs and @figma make. As a non-tech founder I actually build all the front-end things and sales & ops automations, and for the core product I build MVPs for the engineers to see the vision clearly.

I committed to investing in a company this week that doesn’t have a CTO. Typically that would be a deal breaker for me but I’m warming up to the reality that many app layer AI companies will be built by non tech / self taught founders going forward.

Priced rounds are still too expensive. Founders need to pay their lawyers and then the investors lawyers so expect $50k for a seed round. This will all change soon with AI - my guess is that we look back at this practice in couple of years and gasp 😮

Balaji Srinivasan says every startup now needs a founding creator. Someone who speaks for the product before it ships. “The founding engineer is the how… The founding creator is the why.” @balajis

One reason CEO roles are so draining: There is no boss to give you constructive feedback That’s why at Lexsy I really welcome people who can be my mirror so I grow as well

Founders swiping SAFEs and convertible notes like credit cards… then the Series A arrives and they realize the Monopoly money was actually their cap table.

Closed a pre-seed round, and an overwhelming majority of investors are women. Brought in a few men for diversity as well.
