As a designer, it's funny how when you are working on your own stuff—everything is more difficult. I think this comes down to the fact that when you are working with a customer, it is the THEIR responsibility to answer all of the hard questions. When I'm working with startups, I usually ask things like: - What are you selling? - Who is it for? - Can you send me a demo video? - Do you have any sales calls you can share? - What do your customers say about your product? But as soon as I started to try to answer these questions to set up my landing page for @oratorydesign, I started to realize that I have put off talking with customers (post project) wayyyy more than I should have been. So I have spent the last couple weeks, after relaunching with refreshed branding/positioning—talking to customers. And the common theme from all of them is that they said something along the lines of: - We actually can add new pages anytime we want - We feel more like an established company - Our website better reflects our product - Our customers trust us more - We are proud to share our site now - We like working with YOU specifically (Riley) -- The actual deliverables that I provide haven't changed much over the past year and a half of building Oratory. But I used to say, "We'll build you a 6 page website" — which is still necessary, but it isn't the whole story. Now, after having these conversations, I am starting to see how basically none of my customers END their project saying "we love our 6 page website" They end the project saying things like: - "[Oratory] made our product much easier to understand at a glance." - "They took what we had, improved the structure, cleaned up the visuals, and made the site feel more intentional" - "We started with a website and ended up with a creative partner we trust." - "The redesign made our message clearer and the brand more polished" These are real quotes from conversations I had with founders. I am not saying this to brag, or to convince anybody that they need to work with me. I am saying this to reiterate how important it is to talk to your customers. If you're building a startup (or service, like I am) then your customers can just tell you why they decided to buy whatever you're selling. What they say, and how they say it, might surprise you. Every founder knows that they should be talking to their customers, and they should be closely tied to what their customers want—especially when it comes to features (or deliverables, in my case) But these same conversations can inform marketing, positioning, and the entire story of your product/service. Don't fall into the same trap I did and say what you naturally might *want* to say. Use your customer's words to influence *how* you say it. Even if your product/service doesn't change, this shift can be enough to get prospects to go from "eh, sounds like everyone else" to "wow, I need this."

@savanofsky In African spirituality, mediation between God & humanity isn't limited to one figure. Ancestors, spirits, & sacred specialists serve as intercessors, guiding us to the divine. The idea of only Jesus as mediator ignores rich spiritual traditions.

No Christian should be praying the rosary. There is only one Mediator between God and humanity- Jesus Christ. Praying to Mary and worshipping her is straight up idolatry. Song is “SHE’S ROMAN CATHOLIC” by Savanofsky.

@Am_Blujay When are we going to grow up as a people? Amassing wealth should be more than the acquisition of the latest luxury cars....As millionaires and billionaires, when do we elevate our people? Township economy? Build banks with affordable lending structures for our people? Is this us?

Oh dear… A lot of cleaning up is needed before Africa can deliver credible elections. My generation will probably not see credible elections because of how deeply rooted the rot is! While some countries have made progress towards democratic elections in recent years, others still face significant challenges due to corruption, violence, and a lack of transparency. The process of cleaning up these systems and building stronger democratic institutions will take time, effort, and sustained commitment from political leaders, civil society groups, and ordinary citizens alike. While it may not happen overnight, it is important to remain hopeful and continue advocating for positive change in the long term.

@bla_bidza Starlink's arrival in Zimbabwe could revolutionize the nation's digital landscape. By introducing robust competition, it may spur innovation and improve service quality across the telecom sector.

The arrival of Starlink in Zimbabwe could have significant long-term implications for the country’s telecommunications landscape, particularly for Econet, the leading telecom provider. If Starlink undermines Econet's viability, the consequences could be profound and potentially catastrophic for several reasons. Developed economies often protect and maintain the viability of their local telecom incumbents for good reason, and Zimbabwe should be mindful of this. One immediate concern for Econet is its credit rating with international agencies, which is crucial for securing affordable capital to maintain and upgrade its mobile phone infrastructure. If Starlink erodes a substantial portion of Econet's revenue, it could negatively impact the company’s ability to maintain favorable credit ratings. This would make it even harder for Econet to access affordable financing, exacerbating existing difficulties. Already, due to the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe’s leadership, Econet has been struggling to secure funding from international capital markets. As a result, it is forced to rely on expensive sub-prime lenders and purchase lower-cost equipment from Chinese telecom suppliers, which has led to occasional service issues. The added competition from Starlink could further strain Econet’s financial health. Econet is deeply integrated into Zimbabwe’s economy. It is the country’s second-largest taxpayer after Innscor, and its influence spans across sectors, including finance and mobile banking. Disrupting Econet’s operations could lead to widespread economic, social, and security consequences. Zimbabwe could find itself more dependent on foreign providers like Starlink, which would reduce its ability to control its own digital infrastructure and economic growth. Despite these challenges, Econet has proven to be a resilient enterprise business, capable of innovating even in a highly regulated and politically charged environment where it is often viewed as a financial cash cow. While Econet is not without its faults, it has endured these pressures and remained a vital player in Zimbabwe’s telecommunications industry. Undermining Econet’s position could be detrimental to the country’s long-term economic stability.

FAMBA ZION…i had the most spiritually fulfilling and humbling experience yesterday when i attended the ZCC EASTER CONFERENCE led by the ecumenical HIS GRACE Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi at Mbungo, Masvingo in the presence of H.E President E.D Mnangagwa, our amazing First Lady Her Excellency Auxilia Mnangagwa and other Senior Government Officials. The occasion was particularly IMPORTANT as we celebrated the death and resurrection of our Lord JESUS CHRIST who in Luke 6:38 teaches that _“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over.”_ Even though as a PROUD member of my church, JOHANNE MASOWE, we do not read the bible, asi tinoti “Mwari mumwe chete se ZUVA”. As such, my COMPASSION and GENEROSITY is not driven by belonging to a particular DENOMINATION but by accepting the love of GOD as our common DENOMINATOR. Chinotanga ITSITSI NERUDO KOZOUYA KUNAMATA... 🙏🙏🙏. In consideration of the OVERWHELMING support and FERVENT prayers that the Zion Christian Church has consistently extended to the RULING PARTY under the VISIONARY LEADERSHIP of our PRESIDENT , i was moved to bless the church with a SMALL donation of USD1 MILLION DOLLARS in cash to assist in its PHILANTHROPIC activities and CHURCH DEVELOPMENT. Since its formative days under the devout leadership of the founding BISHOP SAMUEL MUTENDI in the 1920’s, ZCC has grown to become a home to the homeless, a refuge of FAITH and has given HOPE to the HOPELESS. The multitudes of its members in excess of 300,000 gathering consistently every year to pray at Defe or Mbungo ignited my COMPASSION to worship GOD through a love offering. I PLEDGE to continue supporting ZCC and any other church of my CHOICE, especially those in support of DEVELOPMENT of our Nation and who PRAY for and REVERE its LEADERSHIP. As patriotic CITIZENS of our beloved Country, we also extend our sincere GRATITUDE to the SECOND REPUBLIC for bestowing upon us the HONOUR and PRIVILEGE to support Government’s efforts in EMPOWERING indigenous churches to be self-sufficient and sustainable. Under our President’s ASTUTE leadership he has embraced the ingenious philosophy that NYIKA INOVAKWA, IGO NAMATIRWA, IGO TONGWA NEVENE VAYO. We commit to rally behind this noble cause through the CHURCH, civic society organizations and all communities, leaving NO PLACE and NO ONE behind ! #EDelivers #ZCCForED #EDHuchi #EDworks#FambaED2030unegeuripo#
