In this video insight, I question whether Labor’s federal budget is truly delivering intergenerational fairness or simply reshaping the narrative. With strong migration and constrained housing supply continuing to drive demand, targeting “mum and dad” investors risks missing the real issue. A more honest conversation about structural reform and policy trade-offs is long overdue. bit.ly/4naFwE4 #investing #housing #montinvest

If an investment portfolio grows 10% annually, an inflation rate of 4.6% means that growth is actually only 5.4% (in real-terms). But, the government then taxes the growth (CGT), meaning (up to) ~25% of the 10% (i.e. 2.5%) goes to the government as tax. 10% minus 4.6% (inflation) minus 2.5% (CGT) = 2.9%. This government is causing investment portfolios to underperform by over 2/3rds, ... and they're about to announce CGT changes that make this even worse. If an Australian has $1mil invested, for retirement, instead of having $100,000 per year (that they might use for retirement), they have the equivalent of $29,000 (after inflation and tax).

BREAKING: We've just secured another 200M litres of diesel. This brings the total additional diesel secured in the last seven days to approximately 300M litres. We’re doing everything we can to help secure more fuel for Australians.

@AngusTaylorMP WHHHY hasn't this been the case all along? Why did the liberals (and especially labor) let it ever get to this. Why now? That's why no one votes for you anymore.

We’re building a stronger, more resilient Australia - our way. By investing in our people, ideas and industry, we’re making sure the economy works for every Australian. In a globalised world, a fair deal for consumers depends on a level playing field for Aussie businesses. That means backing local businesses to compete and grow. That’s what I spoke about this morning at the AADA breakfast.

BREAKING: New numbers show the strongest growth in our economy in almost three years. The Australian economy grew 0.8% in the December quarter, to be 2.6% higher through the year - this growth is much stronger, broader and very welcome. This is faster growth than any major advanced economy. Economic growth is picking up, business investment is strengthening, more than 1.2 million jobs have been created, unemployment is low, and participation is at near record highs, but we know there are big challenges too.

Enhanced tropical depression risk for WA This morning the 27th of Feb, models are consolidating to form a better picture of the tropical low formation next week. This model below is one we use and have reported with a fair bit, as it's easy to understand and uses an ensemble. It's from the ECMWF, and is showing a stronger sign of cyclogenisis for next week starting the 2nd of March. Note this is just one of the numerous ensembles we utilise. As reported yesterday, the Bureau are suggesting development in the same area. They are reporting that 30U may develop over the Kimberley or waters just off the Kimberley coast over the early next week. As conditions become more favourable the risk of 30U developing into a tropical cyclone increases to Low by Wednesday. Tropical Low 30U is likely to move over waters north of the Pilbara coast late next week. This means that at this early stage it will be a Kimberley rain maker, and should also affect the Pilbara region with an increase of thunderstorm activity whilst off the coast. If the track through the northern part of the Fitzroy River catchment is correct, there will be a renewed risk of flooding along the river. Where it goes from there is somewhat up in the air, as not all ensembles are in agreement on this. Some are suggesting a westerly track off into the Indian Ocean, others taking a more southerly track off the west coast - however more to come on this in the coming week. Please remain data-driven and weather-ready by following us if you enjoy our reports. ⚡ 👌 #fblifestyle

New data shows annual wages have now grown above 3% for 14 quarters in a row. This is the longest streak of growth above 3% in over a decade and a half. We’ve made a lot of progress together on the economy but the job’s not done because inflation is too high and people are still under pressure. That's why inflation, productivity and global uncertainty will be big focuses of the budget. #auspol #ausecon

Unwelcome but unsurprising new figures from the ABS show inflation is much lower than when we came to office but still higher than we’d like. Temporary factors like the end of energy rebates drove some of the increase, with inflation still expected to decline over time. We know people are still under pressure and that’s why our responsible cost of living relief is so important.

STATEMENT: COMBATTING ANTISEMITISM, HATE AND EXTREMISM BILL 2026 I want to share my position on the bill that the parliament will debate next week. The government has rushed the drafting of this legislation in response to the Bondi Beach terrorist attack. Anthony Albanese wants you to believe this legislation will combat antisemitism. But it’s a smokescreen. Leveraging off tragedy, the politically expedient Anthony Albanese is using this bill to curtail free speech. Within the bill’s definition of a hate crime is conduct that causes “serious harm” to a person based on race, ethnicity or nationality. “Serious harm” has an incredibly broad definition. It’s not limited to physical harm. It also includes harm to a person’s mental health. If this bill passes parliament in its current form, it’s almost certain that the definition of a hate crime will be broadened to include speech which offends or insults. And that’s concerning. Because it will restrict truths being told – and legitimate criticisms being expressed – simply because someone takes offence. As George Orwell said, “If Liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” But this bill diminishes liberty because censorship is at its core. Another part of this draft legislation determines that it’s not a hate crime to quote religious text or scripture. Yes, we must preserve freedom of religion in our democratic country. But Anthony Albanese is being tricky with this carve out. For domestic political reasons, he wants to ringfence Islam from any reasonable scrutiny. And yet, radical Islamism hasn’t come out of thin air. It comes from Islam. And radical Islamists were responsible for the barbaric bloodbath on Bondi Beach. Perversely, Islamic hate preachers could even employ this legislation to avoid scrutiny. In short: 👉 Anthony Albanese’s bill curtails free speech. 👉 Anthony Albanese’s bill is not serious about combatting the root causes of antisemitism which include radical Islamism. And for these reasons, I will oppose the bill.

This fucken grub scuttles into Bondi in the dark, with some tame journo’s in tow so they can get an image of him laying a wreath, and cops a righteous roasting which he reckons was a ‘little bit of heckling from a few people’. Grow a set of balls ya flog and try doing that in daylight. You’ll find out what Australians think of you then you absolute cunt.
