@GHBSmith I wish CD added a fast travel cost. It kills the sense of adventure when you can just teleport out of danger. Dragon’s Dogma 2 did this perfectly. You really felt like you were adventuring and had to prepare cause you never knew when you’d find civilization again.

Before Crimson Desert released, there was no fast travel point at camp. To unlock the closest one we had to find an item nobody knew existed and unlock an ability nobody knew where to find. It was like 30 hours of some of the best exploring and problem solving good times 😁

@Rafa_SK1 Older gamers will love this game more. It’s really a love letter to classic games. Media will regret the way it’s treating it in a few years.

@LeoKRogue You’ll be mid-game and think “fuuuck, they designed it this way”. Marathon wants you to play ball, whether you want it or not. It’s a heck of a lot of fun.

Marathon's game design is so fucking smart in so many ways it is nearly infuriating. How did they do this? The fact that my friends and I can't stop thinking about it and reflecting on it even when we're not at our PCs is really quite something.

@DStitchman @awesomehalofan This whole thing stemmed from the fact that arrowhead has one guy responsible for the balancing of the game and he sucks and he sucked before he even joined the studio. Someone called out the devs and he got doxxed, I don’t think it’s unwarranted to give the game bad reviews rn

Nothing about Crimson Desert is "Too good to be true" As it turns out, throwing endless mechanics and interactions in a bucket is very time consuming, but not hard if you dont have to balance or make any of it take coherent shape

@LACRUISERTOP I've got artwork and simple modifier rigging for 3 of the 6 basic armor sets in right now. Others are planned. Something more like the Mjolnir suit from Halo will be added eventually as an upgrade. Mechs are something I'm still thinking about.
