Yesterday evening, SJPD Officers initiated a vehicle enforcement stop of a vehicle associated to an ongoing investigation into a mail theft string occurring in south San Jose. Officers contacted an adult male driver and an adult male passenger, and, in plain view, saw a meth pipe and multiple identification cards on the floorboard that did not belong to either subjects. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, Officers located large quantities of stolen mail, counterfeit ID cards, social security cards and US passports. Also seized were equipment used to manufacture these fraudulent identifying documents and multiple meth pipes. Both suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple crimes, including forgery, falsifying checks, possessing forged items and burglary tools. Great work by our Southern Division Patrol Officers for their persistence in pursuing these serial suspects responsible for terrorizing south San Jose neighborhoods.
