I don’t, Ava. At all. I just don’t happen to believe you’re entitled to the rights that women have spent an eternity fighting for & securing at great cost. Conversely, I could ask you why you wish to see women & girls suffer, yes? I’m sure you’d say you don’t, correct?

To understand this, you have to realize something. Iryna wasn't Charlie Kirk. She wasn't a political pundit or controversial. She was simply a young White woman coming home from work. The reason that these are getting vandalized is because they hate White people and like when we get killed. They just want to murder White people. It's that simple

In Auschwitz, my mother taught me three rules. Not stories. Not prayers. Rules. The kind that kept you alive. Rule one: Never make eye contact with a guard. Rule two: Never show that you are sick. Rule three: Never, ever, lose your bowl. I was five years old. I memorized them the way other children memorize nursery rhymes. The bowl was a small tin thing. Dented. Scratched. It held whatever thin soup they gave us once a day. If you lost your bowl, you had no bowl. If you had no bowl, you had no ration. If you had no ration, you understand. I guarded that bowl with everything I had. I slept with it. I held it against my chest during roll call. I knew where it was every second of every day. Then one morning, I fell into the latrine. There is no delicate way to say this. The latrines in Auschwitz were wooden boards with holes cut into them over a pit. The holes were large. I was very small. I was in a hurry. I slipped. I went in up to my neck. The smell. The cold. The rats. I do not need to describe it. Your mind already knows. My mother tried to pull me out. She could not. I was slippery and she had no strength. None of us had strength. We had not eaten properly in months. She called out. Other women came. Together they pulled me free. Someone found a hose. They sprayed me down in the cold air while I stood there shaking. I did not cry. Rule number one in Auschwitz was the same rule everywhere, do not attract attention. But I got sick. Very sick. The kind of sick that comes from rats and filth and cold water and a body that has nothing left to fight with. And I remembered Rule Two, never show that you are sick. I hid it from everyone. From the guards. From the other children. Even from my mother, because I knew if she knew, she would do something. And doing something in Auschwitz got you killed. But someone saw. I do not know who. I do not know why they helped me instead of reporting me. I never knew. They took me to a room, a makeshift hospital. I lay in a bed, a real bed, not a wooden bunk, for the first time since we had arrived. I do not remember much of what happened next. The fever blurred everything. Days passed like smoke. When I came out, I still had my bowl. I had held it even in the latrine. Even in the fever. Even in the dark when I did not know where I was or what day it was. My mother looked at me when I came back. She looked at the bowl. She did not say anything. She just nodded, the way she nodded when something had gone the way it needed to go. People ask me what survival looks like. I tell them, sometimes it looks like a five year old girl climbing out of a latrine in a death camp, covered in filth, shaking with cold, still holding her tin bowl. Because she knew that the bowl was the difference between eating and not eating. Between living and not. Because her mother had told her. And she had listened. I am Tova Friedman. I fell into a latrine in Auschwitz at five years old. I came out still holding my bowl. Tova. #NeverForget #Survival #DaughterOfAuschwitz #ShesStillHere #TheirNamesLiveOn

Heartbreaking and deeply disturbing details are continuing to emerge during the trial of Vickrum Digwa, the man accused of murdering Polish-British student Henry Nowak. Jurors have now been shown mobile phone footage of the confrontation that ended with a young man losing his life. Digwa told the court he was carrying a 21cm kirpan a Sikh ceremonial blade worn around his neck and claimed he feared Henry would use it against him. “I thought I had to do something because I was afraid that he was going to stab me with my own kirpan,” he said. But the court also heard that Henry Nowak was trying to escape. According to the evidence presented, Henry attempted to flee for his life, climbing over a fence while Digwa was allegedly still stabbing him. One of the most shocking details heard by the jury is that police initially handcuffed Henry as he lay on the ground bleeding out, after Digwa reportedly claimed Henry was the aggressor and had made racist remarks. The court also heard allegations that Digwa’s mother, Kiran Kaur, 53, removed the kirpan from the scene after the stabbing. She denies assisting an offender. At the centre of all this is a young man who never came home. A son. A friend. A life gone forever. And every new detail emerging from this case is leaving people across the country horrified and heartbroken. Imagine Henry’s family hearing that he was allegedly restrained while fighting for his life. Heartbreaking beyond words. Cases like this destroy public trust because people feel catastrophic mistakes are never properly acknowledged and this is why the police should be investigated and held to account for there massive failings and incompetence in Henry’s brutal murder, that’s not anti-police it’s about making sure every emergency response is fair, competent and focused on saving lives and that clearly didn’t happen in Henry’s case.

The details emerging from the Henry Nowak case are genuinely harrowing. Jurors heard transcripts in court in which Henry Nowak can allegedly be heard saying: “I am dying.” According to the prosecution, Vickrum Digwa replied: “You’re not dying bro.” The prosecution said that around 10 minutes later, Henry told Digwa: “You stabbed me.” Digwa allegedly responded: “No I didn’t,” before saying: “You started recording me, thinking you’re sick.” The court was then shown an image taken from a video Digwa recorded of Henry lying on the ground. The prosecution asked him directly: “He’s lying on the floor saying he was dying and you made a video of his face, why?” Digwa replied: “I don’t know why.” Prosecutors also told the jury that when police arrived at the scene, Digwa repeatedly claimed Henry was “pretending.” Before the jury, Digwa said: “I thought that he was pretending to be in a worse condition than he was.” Just imagine those final moments. A young man allegedly saying “I am dying” while lying wounded on the ground… and being accused of pretending. It is difficult to read details like these and not feel completely heartbroken for Henry Nowak and his family. People across the country are following this case because they cannot comprehend the sheer horror of what the court is hearing.

Trans women arrested due to 1 million dollar warrant for crimes against his own kids.  The case of Michelle Blessent, formerly known as James Blessent, serves as a dark reminder of how individuals can manipulate trust to commit heinous acts against the most vulnerable. Before transitioning to Michelle, the defendant—as James—did the unthinkable violating his own 9 year old daughter and his son that was 8. A grand jury issued a warrent for his arrest that eventually led to the arrest by the Bloomington Police Department. Blessent was indicted on multiple counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13. A second set of charges involving another victim followed This case isn’t just about the charges; it’s about the systematic abuse of power and the devastating impact on victims.  Blessent pleaded guilty to: Two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Victim Under 13. One count of Grooming. Sentence: On the same day, Blessent was sentenced to 42 years on each of the two assault counts and 3 years on the grooming count, for a total of 87 years in prison (sentences run consecutively). Blessent must serve at least 85% of the sentence and will not be eligible for parole until 2095. Blessent is in an all female prison in the state of Illinois.  How do you feel about this, was justice served, should Blessent be in a female prison?

HOLY SH*T. The man who invaded the female locker room at @PlanetFitness has reportedly been identified as Christopher Beaulieu, a REGISTERED CHILD SEX OFFENDER. Christopher was previously convicted of felonious s*xual assault of a MINOR. After gymgoer Judy Walcott reported his presence in the female locker room to staff, Planet Fitness CANCELED her membership due to "transphobia." Any comment @PlanetFitness?

The main stream news is failing to do their job, so here is the bigger picture on this story out of NH. The man pretending to be a woman hanging out in women and children's private spaces is Christopher Beaulieu. He was previously convicted of felonious sexual assault (victim was a minor). So the thing they say never happens is absolutely happening. He also hangs out at Chuck E Cheese in Manchester. Judy Walcott was getting ready to use the bathroom in the women’s locker room at the Concord Planet Fitness when she saw Christopher hanging up belongings outside a shower. Understandably she was very uncomfortable and scared (I know this feeling because men use our restrooms in the State House too), so she went to the front desk and reported it. The employees ignored it. A few days later, she reported it to another employee who called her “transphobic” and told her to quit if she didn’t like it. A few hours later, the assistant manager called her and canceled the membership. They forged her signature on the cancelation too. This smells like a lawsuit waiting to happen. So a woman was punished for being frightened in her private space, and the man is still hanging out freely in there. @KellyAyotte help! @libsoftiktok

The details coming out of the Henry Nowak trial are deeply disturbing and absolutely heartbreaking. In court, Vickrum Digwa admitted that when police questioned him on the night Henry died, “I did not mention the full truth and that I had stabbed him.” The prosecution then highlighted one of the most chilling moments heard by the jury: “Whilst he’s saying he can’t breathe, you’re explaining that you have a swollen eye.” Just imagine that scene. A dying young man desperately trying to tell people he cannot breathe… while attention is allegedly being shifted elsewhere. Jurors also heard what were described as Henry Nowak’s final words before he fell silent: “Please brother, I can’t breathe.” Those words are now etched into the minds of everyone following this case. A frightened young student pleading for help in the final moments of his life before dying at the scene. The court also heard evidence from a conversation Digwa allegedly had with his brother while in custody. His brother asked him: “Why did you use the kirpan?” Digwa reportedly replied: “I am a fool, I am an idiot.” Every new revelation from this trial feels more horrifying than the last.

Today we think of everyone affected by the attack in Manchester on the night of the 22nd May 2017, and particularly the families who lost loved-ones, knowing that every single day of the nine years since has been hard for them. We are still at their side and always will be. 🐝

@TrevorPTweets @EHRC This is a disgusting misuse of women’s trauma. Trans women are NOT men and they are not the ones attacking women on Acacia Avenue. You are weaponising genuine fear of male violence to target a vulnerable minority group. True safety comes from secure private pods, not your bigotry

My thoughts on the @EHRC guidance laid yesterday; this is not about non-existent "rights". It is about the safety of women - mothers, sisters, wives, daughters. We men need to hear their voices. Virginia Woolf : "Though we see the same world, we see it through different eyes". My intro on @TimesRadio yesterday: Where I live there are two different routes to and from the tube station. One, let’s call it Acacia Avenue, is quiet and residential. The other, London Road, is a busy major route with lots of traffic. At all times of the day, I automatically head for Acacia Road. It’s just much nicer. The women in my family, on the other hand, will never willingly make that walk after dark. They live with an anxiety that most men find it hard to imagine, and frankly, rarely think about unprompted. Last year 739,000 women were sexually assaulted in Britain. Virtually all such assaults - nine out of ten - are perpetrated by men. One in four women have been attacked at some time in their lives. Acacia Avenue is exactly the sort of place in which most women fear that they become vulnerable, and they are right. As the author Virginia Woolf once wrote " Though we see the same world, we see it through different eyes". I think this is the right context in which to understand the furore over the guidance being laid today by the government, over the meaning of the words man and woman when it comes to providing services and facilities in workplaces. Many men think this is about a rather arcane dispute about who gets to use what loo. For their mothers, sisters, wives and daughters, it isn’t. In a previous life, as Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, I had a hand in writing this country’s equality laws, in particular the 2010 Equality Act. It never occurred to any of us that there could be any confusion or dispute over the meaning of the words man and woman. But it has taken a decade of campaigning, a Supreme Court judgement and now hundreds of pages of guidance to settle the issue. This is not about so called trans rights, which are completely unaffected by this guidance, since no-one has ever had the right to walk into a changing room reserved for teenage girls. What it does mean is that women and girls are guaranteed the protection they deserve, and that their safety, which we spent half a decade drafting law to ensure, is protected. But the whole business illuminates some serious issues in our politics. First that many of our institutions, in spite of the fact that they always knew what the right thing to do was, decided to ignore the fears of their women customers and employees, under pressure from noisy pressure groups. Instead, the people who were supposed to be the grown ups behaved as though the law said what campaigners wanted it to say, rather than what it actually said. They settled for what they hoped would be a quiet life. In a democracy, there’s little point in Parliament deciding anything if the law is then made an ass by activists intimidating bosses in companies, schools, universities and the media into doing something different. Second, at the heart of the campaign to undermine the Equality Act is an idea that we specifically rejected in 2010, so called self-identification. That is to say, that it should be up to the individual to decide whether they have what’s called a protected characteristic - are you male or female, are you black or white. The problem is that self-ID would destroy the operation of any law against discrimination. Look, it would almost certainly have been to my advantage as a young man to self-identify as a handsome, white public schoolboy. None of those things is true of me. And at various points I am pretty sure it’s been to my disadvantage. It is certainly statistically likely to have been to my disadvantage. But according to the logic of those who say that self-ID should be the rule and that anyone should be able to decide for themselves whether they are male or female, black or white or Asian, were I to complain about racial discrimination, it would be difficult for anyone prove that I’d been discriminated against because of my race since anybody to whom I’d lost out could just tell the courts that they too were black. I know that sounds like Alice in Wonderland but you can google the case where a chap, both of whose parents are white, insisted he should get money from the Arts Council because he so identified with the black struggle that he considered himself black, and everyone should accept his point of view. In the United States and Brazil exactly such outlandish claims have been made and people rewarded to the disadvantage of people actually born into minority families. I have even been told about firms who, when reporting their gender pay gaps have put men who just happen to like wearing dresses at weekends - nothing wrong with that, let me be clear - into the female column and told their women employees that they really haven’t got anything to moan about because statistically they are paid equally, and they should get back in their box. So today’s guidance isn’t just another tiresome chapter in culture wars. It is , I hope, a halt to the efforts to undermine one of the most important pieces of legislation on the statute book, by people who, for their own reasons, would prefer us to be living in the 1950s world of Mad Men.
