The window seat on a plane is an incredible modern blessing. Imagine our ancestors getting to take in such a view. They would have been stunned, speechless. And yet, some close the shade and do what? My God. I can't understand those who shut the shade, and shut out the world.

@ogre_codes A bit of hyperbole: The $2K was for raised beds, nice paths, special soil, land, labor, water, inputs etc in a pricey coastal metro. And I’ve gotten at least two bowls a year. The point is, it’s fun—but not cheap—produce. Our stable, bountiful food supply is a modern miracle.

We live in a society that offers no support to parents and you're a perfect example. As long as you don't need the next generation of healthcare workers, police, military you should be fine.

I'm surprised that no one has started a daycare center open from 5-11pm. Understandably harder to staff, but parents would pay an insane premium to get some later hours coverage to work, do dinner, etc.
