Great things happen when you love the right woman. Truly thankful to my wife Grieta for an incredible year — everything has fallen into place. Thrilled and humbled to share that I've joined an NBA team as a Scout! Excited to keep grinding every day.

People ask me about the shooting variance. Teams went 10-for-32 (31.3%) on 3's against these traps. Went through each shooter's numbers on such shots (Spot Ups or Pull Ups) - averages of 34.2%. So 11-for-32 (34.3%) would be "fair". Pretty close to what actually happened.

Where it gets even more fascinating is how it extends OKC's two-for-one windows. SGA in the back court with 26 seconds remaining? Sure, he can pull up for a 3-pointer. OKC will just get the ball back and, perhaps, get another good look.

It was Game 49 of the regular season and the OKC Thunder were winning end-of-quarter situations where the opponents had the last shot. How is that even possible!? They (and others) stick to one defensive principle, which has changed NBA basketball. youtube.com/watch?v=1JqhiL…

@NateDuncanNBA @ElGee35 You blew my mind with the idea that NBA's peak in the 90s overlapping with "mano a mano" basketball has messed with the public's idea of what the game should be. Especially when I've always enjoyed the free-flowing nature of 70s and 80s NBA. An era with rather bad ratings.

Some behind-the-scenes thoughts on how the Doncic trade came about Why I also wanted to trade him - at least initially but not like this - while I was working for the Mavericks And how Nico Harrison created an environment that made the deal even possible roycewebb.com/p/the-luka-don…

JJ Redick on the 3s and NBA ratings discourse, parity, talent in the game today vs yesterday, and people paying too much attention to what is said on Twitter It's funny that he starts his answer with "I'll try to be brief here" and then speaks for 4 minutes

Buddy Hield's fit in Steve Kerr's offense has been seamless. The sheer gravity of him gave fits even for the league-leading OKC defense. Just like Steph, he doesn't even need to touch the ball. Golden State basketball. Still beautiful.

Hollander POTD Steve Stipanovich. Mizzou big drafted 2nd by IND in 83. Didn't end up being a star but was solid C from 83-88 (13 ppg 8 rpg) before injuries abruptly ended his career early. Remarkably consistent, had nearly identical ppg + rpg each yr. Pulled a Plaxico in college.

Hollander POTD Lionel Simmons. LTrain was LaSalle star ( had 20 ppg as frosh). SAC drafted him 7th in 90. Was all-rookie & had 18 ppg 1st 3 yrs in SAC. Then, knee issues ended career by 97. Also famously went on IL w/wrist injury from playing too much Nintendo.

@HoopsAnalyst @tomhaberstroh Thanks! So kind of you. So it's a knee thing. Got it... I now see him being re-signed on 1994-08-24 (the day on which I was born!) and then having arthroscopic surgery on 1994-10-14, which makes me curious. Close to a newspapers_com rabbit hole at this point.
