On the eve of congestion pricing, the Governor releases a video announcing that she is “putting money in the pockets of New Yorkers.” With no sense of timing, the Governor cannot help but be a caricature of political tone-deafness.
Why can’t the Governor level with New Yorkers? Why can’t she simply say what she believes: that congestion pricing is necessary for funding the capital needs of the MTA but that she will not insult the intelligence of New Yorkers and claim that a cost is actually cost-savings.

@Boenau You live in VA - your little city planning efficiency passion may sound good to you in theory. That’s 180$ a month. MTA has misappropriated funds since its fruition which hit the fan bad in the 90s and 00s. They’re crooks and so is the NYS gov. This will improve not a thing.
