Work with the willing. Give the group that says yes your time, attention, and support. Remember, the average manager spends about 80 hours per year on employees that are in resistance mode and who won't change. You don’t need everyone on board to move forward.

@white_owly I once tried to run an initiative outside the hierarchy and made great progress only to get sucked in by issues of status when the actual change needed to happen. I didn’t realise it until too late & it got killed. Status is there even when we don’t see it.

People pay money for followers who aren’t real. People did things for meaningless influence scores. People make purchases for frequent flyer points they can’t use. People worry about job titles. Social media companies - seems like we crave status instead of stories.
