@dogreadsnews @kaya85kaya @Frencheconomics Thank you for your thoughts. Genuinely appreciated :) Last prompt (should you kindly indulge me further), why is Berkshire Hathaway not falling over itself to allocate its cash holdings as you have suggested may be most prudent?

The 'Tech' sector includes the Mag-7, Tesla and other companies of their ilk who are driving innovation and growth in the global economy. Mainly US-listed equities but also the emerging fixed-income products backed by hard assets. Your second point is the key one. It's a question of how to preserve wealth. If you want to keep wealth for generations, focus on not losing it. Fiat currency loses value over time and systems can change, so hold assets that can’t be easily diluted by central banks (like gold and Bitcoin), and make sure you actually control what you own. There isn't much that outruns monetary inflation, as this image shows.

@dogreadsnews @kaya85kaya @Frencheconomics Help me out here. “Tech” is a sector. Are you saying any asset class (equities, fixed income, etc) associated with that sector? On a more interesting note (to me anyway) 50, 70, 100 years really is not long enough. Merely 2 generations…

@JamesRaxz @shivmalik @chris_komatsu Only anecdotal but those sentiments reflect many in the circles in UK and France from my experience… …specifically, that confidence the US can make it right and not allow it to go so wrong again is gone for a generation.

@shivmalik @chris_komatsu Hey, my spouse and their family are Germans. We live there a good chunk of the year. You speak for yourself on this. I’ve encountered nothing but sadness at what’s gone on and prayers that we get through it and anger at Trump. But also confidence we’ll make it right.

The headline says that the costs of Trump’s tantrums are “starting to show”. I don’t think Americans get that for Europeans, the Greenland debacle changed everything. It’s over. No one can trust the US. It’s not because of Trump. It’s because we know your system can’t/ won’t stop him or the next guy after him. And also that there’s enough of you who think it would be ‘cool’ to invade just to rub it in our faces. That’s a good enough reason to never trust you again and make everything far more transactional.
Fareed Zakaria@FareedZakaria

In the United States, President Trump’s periodic insults hurled toward allies get treated as routine tantrums. But in those countries, the accumulation of abuse has reached a tipping point. My latest column: washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/…

@RebelliousBard @peterkyle Modern society in the UK is not conducive to parenthood: expecting mothers to be everything; and expecting fathers to be everything too. But here we are. If mother is in hospital then the least I can do to keep things normal is put my daughter’s hair up in a ponytail for school.

This is blatant social engineering to feminize men. Day-one paternity leave and hair-braiding propaganda aren't about "bonding" they're designed to erode natural male roles of providing and protecting, pushing emotional nurturing instead. Strong families need complementary sex roles, not state-forced role reversal. Typical lefty bullshit.

Did you know that dads who start a new job aren’t eligible for paternity leave unless they’ve been in that job for 6 months? We’re changing that. This April, we’re introducing measures so that dads and partners can be present with their new child from day one of employment. Thanks again Mat and Lawrence for coming in to speak to me.

In the UK, impersonating a police officer is a criminal offence under Section 90 of the Police Act 1996, which prohibits pretending to be a police officer. The 'real' Met police are too cowed/corrupt/intimidated to uphold the law. Take these vigilantes off Britain's streets.

@jaimerh354 @communicipalist @mrsDugskullery Putting the genuine fear and safety of these communities to one side: the word “POLICE” may not be easily identifiable at a distance but colours, shapes and patterns are. Is there not merit that those are adopted to deceive… …whether morally justifiable or not?

Why does Carney keep appointing these total nerds to handle the US-Canada relations file? There’s nothing in Charette’s background that suggests she knows or cares anything about the US or has the temperament, personality, or knowledge to deal with the Trump administration.

@sukh_saroy Who does one sue for negligence when the contract does not meet their expectation? For example, if a standard boilerplate clause does not practically work for the individual’s specific intended purposes and results in the contract being unenforceable?

@TrungTPhan I follow one of their lawyers on linked in. Jessica Nguyen. It’s clear they are not working very hard. Based on her LinkedIn alone I’m thinking they could cut 50 percent of their staff starting with her. Nobody at Amazon has time for that kind of self promotion

Step 1 - Europe boycotts the world cup Step 2 - the 16 countries that have qualified or will qualify (via the play offs) instead contest a European championship. Just think - a high class tournament with a manageable no. of teams rather than the bloated monster FIFA has puked up. Vote below 👇
