A Review published in Bioelectronic Medicine suggests that low-dose transcutaneous nicotine could be a promising and safe procedure to relieve long COVID symptoms with no expected long-term harm. bioelecmed.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

@Gmwetz @myemma @hubermanlab @Canal1point5 Transcutaneous nicotine application is not addictive either. This, due to the constant low blood levels not capable to evoke excitation in the ventral tegmental area (VTA), which in reaction leads to immediate high dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens(NA) while smoking

Nicotine: mildly cognitive enhancing (by way of arousal and focus) & *possibly* neuroprotective, but also increases blood pressure & is addictive. Not carcinogenic unless delivered by smoking, vaping, dipping or snuffing. Unusual among stimulants because it’s calming too.

I am asking my new colleagues @BrockAnnaDr @GrandeBettina and @GrandeTilman for their support with the #LemonChallengeMECFS. Together we try to establish care structures for patients suffering from very severe MECFS. And we need a lot more support.

Supporting the #LemonChallengeMECFS. The lemon as a symbol for the bitterness of the disease but also for the hope of healing. Please share and support the @MECFSResearch Foundation.

If you're able, support @thesicktimes in their end-of-year fundraiser! They have been such an important voice in Covid-safety, disability justice, and advocating for people with Long Covid. 🗞️

Support independent #LongCovid journalism! In our end-of-year fundraiser at @thesicktimes, we aim to raise $50,000 from readers. This will help us expand, produce more reporting, and pay our staff better living wages. the-sick-times.fundjournalism.org/donate/ (1/3)

Thx @guardian for inviting me to share these #LongCovid questions. One of the most agonizing parts of this condition has been waiting for the world to catch up with what we know about the disease - & the abysmal lack of urgency to do anything about it. /1 theguardian.com/world/commenti…

Which studies, new or old, do you think have greatest potential for impact in improving QoL in #MECFS & #Longcovid if followed up, combined, expanded, therapeutics developed, done in PEM, etc and why?

Because I'm worried of the vulnerability of the chronic illness community on Twitter if EM follows through on his threat to start charging, I'm organizing a project to distribute donated B l u e S k y codes. Please donate or request a code here: forms.gle/UFuKBMwg3YxYAy…
