@thinkdefence Speaking from a dark blue perspective, Dartmouth only becomes expensive because they keep refusing to heavily invest in the site as people keep refusing to rule out selling it. Becomes an expensive game of whack-a-mole with building problems. Sandhurst makes money anyway iirc.

Officers and other ranks should do a joint service phase 1 common syllabus. A single, modern facility. We will soon be in 2030, yet have separation like its 1930. We need to move on and reflect the reality of today's young people.

These people are unserious... We have an economic crisis, weak defence during war in Europe, overflowing prisons, a growing terror threat, corrupt officials working for foreign powers, and an unsustainable immigration situation... And the possible future PM is talking VAR...

@HoyasFan07 It requires making hard choices about what else not to fund (something the entitled British electorate can’t possibly fathom). That being said our tax burden is crazy high, really not sure what it currently goes on tho…

Though if Germany joins GCAP - with its colossal defense war chest - seems that could set things right. All the more if Canada & Sweden also join (both have lots of $$ to spend on aircraft).

@Lesserof2weevls well yes they need to tell the treasury to take a hike but more importantly they need to find more $$ for defense through reductions to non defense spending
