You read this study wrong. The study does not say suicide ideation stays the same after transition, and in fact it says that transition alleviates gender dysphoria. All it's saying is that the rate is still higher than c!s people. And as I've said, this is due to social impacts on trans people and their support structure. All this study is saying is that even after transition there should be services available to help trans people

Numerous studies have shown that the suicide rate amongst the transgender community is 42%. And that number does not change post “gender affirming” surgery. Interesting to note as well, that number is higher than Jews is Auschwitz and slaves in the American South in the mid to late 1800s. I would argue that transgender individuals in 2025 do not have it worse than Jews in the 1940s or blacks in the 1860s. Maybe transgenderism is a mental illness? Maybe it’s actually more empathetic to see it that way and treat it as such.

suicidality goes down post transition, there are countless studies that show this. You're trying to use suicide statistics instead of suicidality because you can't accurately track suicide reporting in general, but also it's even harder for small groups. Homicide should consist entirely of some guy killing his cheating wife or business partner at a rate where you’re basically like, well, what are you going to do? You can’t stop everything.
