@Playfra0 It's a miracle this didn't end in disaster. This guy should get court martialed. At least we can all just be bewildered about it rather than mourning the fallen. Don't do that again you idiots.

@guy_laron You say they can't open the strait by military means. What, then makes you think they're capable of holding Kharg at all? That seems like a contradiction. The Iranian countermeasures work as well in Kharg as they do in the rest of the Persian gulf.

Once again, our attention was diverted to what Trump says instead of what he does. So what is the Trump admin doing? A 🧵 1. It expands the number of aircraft able to bomb IRGC coastal positions

It's really funny that JD Vance said in Munich last year that the European countries should've more strongly rejected US demands for aid in Iraq, only to have their own Iraq War a year later. Clearly this administration doesn't possess a particularly strong sense of irony.

@SuperSonics40 @ResistFight0 @SinaToossi I agree with you that we should be much harsher towards both Israel and the US: I am in favor of breaking off the alliance entirely. But the blame for this crisis lies not with us, and there was very little we could have done to forestall it. These are the facts.

One of the biggest implications of this war is how badly Europe miscalculated. On Iran, they had real chance to help make diplomacy succeed. Instead, they aligned with and enabled Trump’s worst instincts. Now they face a cascading crisis: severe economic shock, a fraying NATO, weakened support for Ukraine, and the erosion of the very security architecture they built over decades. Such strategic malpractice by the European policy class.

NEW: President Trump tells @steveholland1 in a brief interview that he will express his "disgust" for NATO at tonight's speech and that he is "absolutely" considering withdrawing the United States from NATO

@SuperSonics40 @ResistFight0 @SinaToossi What make believe world? The one where US and Israel bombing half the world is morally or politically equivalent to Europe sanctioning 11 people? You're free to stay in that make-believe world if you want, I'll stay in the real one.

@SuperSonics40 @ResistFight0 @SinaToossi Oh no, we dared to sanction 11 Iranian murderers. Clearly we are responsible for Armageddon on Earth, how foolish of me not to realize as much. As for what Germany does that's got nothing to do with decisions at the EU level. GR media is captive by Israel, hopefully not for long

@ResistFight0 @SinaToossi You could argue that re-introducing the snapback sanctions last year was a mistake and a direct catalyst for the abortive January revolution. I opposed reintroducing the sanctions at the time, but realistically other than that Iran has been more hostile to us than vice versa.

@LewisMoran @SinaToossi he's talking about Europe's behaviour before the war, even before the first war. They did nothing for JCPOA, and then condemned Iran when JCPOA ended, all to appease Israel. They also added new sanctions. They basically removed themselves from being an actor in this issue.

@kchoudhu Are you operating under the assumption that there would be no consequences to betraying an alliance and immediately turning to Iran? My sweet summer child. If Europe plays this game, things may get very unfortunate in quite unimaginable ways…

Even Robert Kagan is now assessing that the U.S. has just become an exporter of chaos to the rest of the world. There has been a precipitous intellectual decline such that its not clear that these policies that are hurting the rest of the world are even benefitting Americans.

@escapefrommelos Lol yeah you're so special, such a cute little westerner whose government sent weapons to cause mass slaughter in al-Sisi's Egypt or in Israel's Gaza campaign. But hey at least you're part of the civilized world!

two things that “radicalized” me about this useless stupid war: 1) these videos are often posted with masturbatory glee 2) the victims are always uniformed but very often unarmed and without helmets… almost like they’re PoWs who have been released and hunted on video for sport

If this video doesn't make you realise that the 'peace dividend' is officially dead and buried, nothing will. German General Breuer, Inspector General since March 2023, widely respected for his pragmatic, "no-nonsense" approach to crisis management: “We're facing a threat from Russia. I've never experienced situation as dangerous and urgent as today. Russia is building up its military to nearly double the size it had before the war against Ukraine, with new structures all directing West. It's a clear threat.” Breuer has been in the game for 40 years and says he’s never seen it this dangerous—that should tell you everything. This isn't 'warmongering’, it's survival. Russia isn't just 'rebuilding' for fun. They are gearing up for a direct hit on the West.

@MosiniElisa I'm glad No won. The judiciary badly needs reforms, but this is not what this was: this was an attempt for politicians to exert even more control over it to avoid paying for their corruption. The government should ban parliamentary immunity for corruption probes instead.

Defeat for Meloni as her justice reform referendum gets rejected. My opinion as an Italian: this is a huge defeat Not only did all the governing parties fully support the reform, but also the liberal-centrist opposition and even part of the reformist center-left backed it 1/3 👇

A big part of the reason is that the Italian government — to be fair, the whole political class — hasn’t really explained (or officially admitted) to the country that Italy is currently substantially involved in multiple wars. In parallel, millions of Italians will be unhappy to read that the EU is shutting down imports of gas from Russia. The political class – not just the government – should truly step up and start an adult public conversation with its citizenry - not only in Italy.
