It was indigenous elites who initiated the mass Graves hoax, egged on church burnings, and turned national grief into power and Profit. Journalists do ordinary indigenous people no favours by covering up for corrupt tribal politicians. Indigenous people deserve the truth too.
Frances Widdowson@FrancesWiddows1

It is NOT TRUE, @HadleyFreeman, that "From the start, indigenous leaders were cautious about the claims children had been murdered at the schools". Journalists: Stop giving the neotribal elites a pass! They have been fomenting the #Kamloops215Deception for five years.

@SteveKooner @cosminDZS Mostly right, but you need to name the enemy. He is caving to the reconciliation industry lobbyists. The big chiefs are not “activists“. They are running the province with real power.

This powerful op-ed nails it: the only person truly surrendering British Columbia is David Eby. While Eby throws weak MAGA insults and caves to blockade threats, Kerry-Lynne Findlay stands firm as BC’s new Iron Lady. She refuses to be bullied and will repeal the DRIPA disaster that’s driving investment away, creating legal chaos, and undermining property rights for everyone. Eby folds faster than a cheap lawn chair every time activists push back. He’s handing over Crown land, legislative control, and provincial sovereignty through opaque co-governance schemes that shut regular British Columbians out. We need a Premier who puts the entire province first with one set of rules for all, strong property rights, and real economic certainty. Kerry-Lynne Findlay is that leader. Tough, experienced, and ready to fix this NDP mess.

The the media class covered up the worst line, including history because it “felt true“ and now that they are exposed, they insist upon instant and complete absolution while continuing their bad faith attacks on the people who got it right from the start. @harrisonlowman you owe Frances an apology. You owe the nation and apology.

"Specifically when it comes to journalists, I think we did a major disservice to the country five years ago. I was a part of it. I remember reporting on it. We got swept up. There were press releases that said things like kids as young as three, 215 bodies. It was in the middle of the pandemic, the racial reckoning down south was going on simultaneously, and it felt true. And international media descended on B.C., and we ran with it. I think we felt that as years passed to change the headline or the lead that was "actual remains, actual bodies" would mean everything else below it would fall away as well. And people would question the residential school system in its entirety, and not reckon with that. But I would say that our jobs are not to be the therapists for Canada, our jobs are to be the storytellers. And with storytelling comes telling the facts as they are, and having some really tough conversations with sources, and then allowing people to sort through them and make opinions of their own. I think that this story has had a lot of us held hostage for a few years, and I'm happy that there's some steps in the opposite direction." @harrisonlowman @lamphieryeg I would suggest that your job now is to talk to the people who got it right from the beginning. Tell their stories.Frances Widdowson, Jim McMurtry, Vern Giesbrecht, Nina Green. Ask the questions you were too afraid to ask.

Residential schools produced Olympic champions.
Karla Treadway | Host Sovereign Sphere Podcast@thesovereignceo

It’s crazy that people think all First Nation people (or any group of people for that matter) think the same. Have the same experiences. I’ve been speaking with this gentleman in my Instagram DMs who recently listened to my podcast with @timthielmann about residential schools, reconciliation and media spin. This man gave me permission to share his experience. I have many others to share too. I wonder how many more people have stories counter to “the narrative” but are too scared to share?

@ShirShanS I have and will always strive to speak the truth plainly no matter which identity group it offends or whose feelings it hurts. You’re welcome to disagree with my position but calling me “creepy” or demonic“ isn’t a particularly convincing argument.

Women know that they can destroy any man’s reputation with a single accusation. This reality creates an omnipresent power imbalance, buttressed only by The presumption of innocence. Unless you believe women are divine beings who, unlike men, are constitutionally incapable of misinterpretation or deceit, there is no basis to criticize Jordan much less demand his resignation. So far, only Armstrong has the courage to call out the NDP for their opportunistic attack.
Tara Armstrong@TaraArmstrongBC

Jordan Kealy is honest, principled, and kind. He is entitled to the presumption of innocence - a cornerstone of Western society for over 2,000 years. Shame on Jennifer Whiteside and the other jackals within the NDP caucus for leaping to conclusions for selfish political reasons.

For nearly two years, I have worked closely with @Jordan_Keal in both professional and political settings. During that time, I have found him to be respectful, professional, genuine, and a gentleman. He has never given me pause for concern, and in all of my interactions with him, he has conducted himself appropriately and respectfully. I have also seen firsthand the love and devotion he has for his wife, his dogs, and the farm he has worked so hard to build. He speaks highly of his wife, values her deeply, and it has always been clear to me how important she is to him. Canada's justice system is founded on the principle that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Every person has the right to a fair trial and due process before being judged or condemned. I can only speak to my own experience, but after nearly two years of working alongside Jordan, my experience has been one of professionalism, respect, integrity, and genuine character. The facts should be determined through the legal process, not through speculation, assumptions, or trial by public opinion!!!

@preta_6 Amy, when falsely accused of misconduct you defiantly professed your innocence and fought the allegations. You were rightly praised for doing so. Jordon says that he is completely innocent and is entitled to the presumption of innocence. Why would he step down?

The presumption of innocence is a foundational Western legal principle, rooted in Roman law, centuries of common law tradition, and Christian concepts of justice. It stands as one of the most critical safeguards of individual liberty and is a bedrock Canadian value. To cast it aside for partisan advantage, as Jennifer Whiteside and the NDP are doing, is shameful and dangerous. It replaces the rule of law with the rule of the mob and trial by media. Jordan Kealy, like every Canadian, is entitled to the presumption of innocence and his day in court. Anything less betrays the principles that make Canada a free and just society.

.@JM_Whiteside issues a statement with @BCNDPCaucus reaction to @Jordan_Keal sexual assault charge. Says inappropriate for an MLA facing a serious charge to stay, and should resign. “British Columbians would expect Kerry-Lynne Findlay to tell Jordan Kealy to step down immediately," she says. "She enthusiastically accepted his support throughout the leadership race, including standing on stage with him just days ago."

The enslavement and torture of indigenous people was a dark chapter in our past. There were 39 distinct slave trading tribes in pre-Columbian North America. This indigenous history month, take a moment to learn about how your Canadian ancestors put an end to these horrific practices. Excellent summary linked below. aristotlefoundation.org/study/slavery-…
