There's a crowd of people who say that you can be healthy regardless of how fat you are. To support this, they rely on a poorly-defined concept: metabolically healthy obesity. One issue with this concept is that most people who look fat and healthy quickly become unhealthy too!

Fine if people want to use their private property rights to reject extremely generous deals, but the way this is framed implies data centers are shifty for offering farmers crazy amounts of money. Older farmer goes on a crazy confused rant about food disappearing and they just air it without comment or clarification. Farmers should be understood as one industry among many and not treated like they're magical sages who can see things the rest of us can't.
Jack@jackunheard

🚨BREAKING: Kentucky family rejects a $26 million offer to turn their farmland into a data center, roughly 10x the area’s going rate. “If it’s my way, I’ll stay and hold and feed a nation. 26 million doesn’t mean anything.”

Turns out you can actually just do stuff! Well done to @NetworkRailSCOT for completing engineering works in remarkable time – taking only TEN days instead of the usual ten months required. We need more of this across Britain!
Network Rail Scotland@NetworkRailSCOT

Our engineers seized the rare opportunity of the closure of Scotland’s busiest station to deliver an extensive package of maintenance and renewals. The work done would have taken ten months using our usual overnight maintenance window. Read more 👇 networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/major-eng…

My Simple Plan To Make British Embassies Great Again
Sam tweet media
Ameer Kotecha@Ameer_Kotecha

I’ll try to answer this with an example: a minister (who I won’t name) said all British embassy bathrooms should be stocked with Molton Brown products to fly the flag 🇬🇧. Officials could have ignored the specifics of the brand but implemented the spirit of the ministerial ask: using embassies as shop windows for UK Plc - as they should be. Instead the blob didn’t like it and kicked the whole idea into the long grass. My point being: it’s true @FUDdaily that officials sometimes have to aim off a little with ministerial suggestions, and absolutely they should challenge them where there is good reason to. There is also undoubted value in stability and not change for change’s sake. But the problem is when that crosses over into outright blocking or foot dragging of ministerial directives

Really funny how all it took was for someone to go "Cows end up using up more water than AI" for people to go "Ummm water isnt even a useful metric for climate change!!!" baby that's what we've been saying. You're not gonna believe what every single other metric has to say though

People are so mad about the fact that the meat industry is objectively several orders of magnitude times worse for the envoironment than AI because it means they can no longer boast on twitter about how climate change is someone else's personal responsobility

Tomorrow, I'll look at the correlations between seed oil intake and various health outcomes. I have the scripts written right now but have not run them so I can remain surprised. Prediction poll time! Will seed oil intake (diet proportion) be correlated with melanoma risk?

Your Party is literally just the Jeremy Corbyn fan club. It's clear that he's just not a very competent leader, whether or not you think he was treated fairly by the British media during his term as Labour leader

@AlexF_YP @EleanoraStats I live in Scotland, so I am well accustomed to trans people being thrown the intangible bone of solidarity while the party in reality gives us nothing and/or still stacks itself with members that hate us, very much got the t-shirt on that from the SNP.

@LilsRoseBell @EleanoraStats It shouldn’t be because we voted to explicitly include Trans Liberation in the YP constitution. It should have been a real party of all the left.

incredible. Ellie Gomersall blew up her political career and gave up a guaranteed MSP seat in favour of standing for a party that... isn't going to stand yes, people make choices for a variety of reasons, but I reserve right to call those choices stupid x.com/joshpizpom/sta…
