TradFi and DeFi Converged at SmartCon 🤝🏽 SmartCon 2025 proved that the gap between Traditional Finance and DeFi is closing. We were proud to be an integral part of this convergence, demonstrating how stake.link is utilizing the @chainlink standard to build the next generation of institutional-grade liquid staking. Here are three ways we are evolving the protocol: 1.Building the Onchain LST Index: As revealed in our SmartCon talk, we are building the industry's first Liquid Staking Token (LST) Index. This product aggregates the best of DeFi, powered by Chainlink’s secure infrastructure. 2.Scaling with CRE: We are among the first to adopt the Chainlink Runtime Environment. This orchestration layer is critical for automating the complex cross-chain workflows required to manage a robust LST Index at scale. 3.Future-Proofing with ACE: To truly marry TradFi and DeFi, compliance is key. Aave Horizon, @aave’s new institutional initiative, has adopted Chainlink SmartData, starting with NAVLink feeds, to enable institutional investors to borrow against tokenized real-world assets. This establishes the foundation for a broader integration strategy of Chainlink services into Aave Horizon, including Proof of Reserve and SmartAUM to enhance risk management. aave.com/blog/horizon-l… Built on the Aave Protocol, Horizon bridges institutional tokenized assets and DeFi markets by enabling overcollateralized lending against qualified tokenized RWAs within an institutional-grade compliance framework. By securing its lending markets with high-quality Chainlink data infrastructure, Aave Horizon can support overcollateralized stablecoin loans onchain against U.S. Treasuries, credit, and equities as collateral. This initiative is a major milestone in the inevitable convergence of traditional capital markets and onchain finance, with Chainlink and Aave bringing the reliability and composability of onchain infrastructure to the institutional asset ecosystem.

Chainlink Smart Value Recapture (SVR) has officially recaptured over $1.1M in non-toxic liquidation MEV and processed over $32M in liquidations. SVR is a novel oracle solution that enables DeFi protocols like @aave to recapture oracle-related MEV from liquidations that would otherwise go to third parties. The value recaptured via SVR not only creates new revenue streams for DeFi protocols but also, through a built-in revenue split, contributes to the long-term sustainability of the Chainlink Network. SVR coverage now spans ~75% of Aave's total Ethereum TVL, representing ~95% of Aave's OEV-relevant TVL. With an increase in the number of SVR-enabled searchers, the recapture rate now averages over 80%, and has reached over 90% in recent transactions, returning more value back to DeFi protocols like Aave. Thank you to Aave, @bgdlabs, and the broader Aave community for the continued collaboration in advancing DeFi economics and oracle infrastructure innovation.

Payment Abstraction Layer (PAL) and Smart Value Recapture (SVR) by @chainlink are fundamentally reshaping the current network economics. PAL simplifies payment processes, converting assets into LINK, while SVR captures MEV, generating revenue that directly benefits the Chainlink ecosystem and $LINK stakers. SVR revenue from feeds not yet secured by staking will directly compensate node operators, effectively shifting from subsidy-based to fee-based rewards. Once staking secures these SVR feeds, the revenue flow transitions to $LINK / $stLINK stakers: 50% to reinforce the existing staking reward rate replacing prior subsidies, and the remaining 50% as a supplementary reward, split equally between the node operator (NOP) and community staking pools. The blended reward rate, combining base staking rewards, SVR revenue, and potential BUILD allocations, establishes a formidable moat for $SDL and $stLINK stakers. As a result of @chainlink's recent announcement, a new temp-check was posted to establish a framework to distribute BUILD rewards via @stakedotlink. Excited to be in DC this week. Many meetings with top legislators like Congressman Tom Emmer and great advocates for our entire industry from the executive branch like Bo Hines. I am seeing an entirely different level of interest about how to modernize the US financial system to make it the preferred place to generate digital assets/RWAs and make the US financial system a leading force in Web3. I have always been interested in how to make a better global financial system and do believe that the technology created by the Chainlink community can help both the US and the world arrive at a better version of the financial system. Right now we are still at the stage where building the foundational infrastructure that creates a more tamper-proof/fair, reliable and transparent financial system is a key step that is still in motion and which the US can become a global leader in. Excited to meet with more great folks in DC to see how we can make this happen.

Let's recap our wins👇 • Surpassed $100,000,000 in TVL for the first time in Q4 2024 (>3.33x higher than 2023’s TVL ATH, >16.667x higher than 2023’s TVL in Q3 2023). • Staked 2,287,671.73 $LINK in the last 12 months (+203% Total LINK Staked YoY from 1,125,000 one year ago). • Total $LINK Staked stands at 3,412,671.73 $LINK. • Surpassed 250,000 Total stLINK rewards to $LINK Stakers in the final days of December (251,266.97 $stLINK as of writing). • Yearly reward rate for $LINK Staking (5.36%) remains 24.074% higher than Native @chainlink Staking’s 4.32% yearly reward rate. • Increased weekly $stLINK distributions from 466.9745 $stLINK per weekly distribution in February (when weekly distros began) to 582.5357 $stLINK as of December 30, 2024 (ATH). • Reward rate for $SDL Staking (5.82%) continues to see a reward rate variance of 30%–50% higher than Native @chainlink Staking’s 4.32% (in-line with 2023). • Reached 155,643,880 reSDL held, representing 23,513,968.75 $SDL staked — the most since Tokenomics 2.0’s inception. • Increased average lock period of $SDL staked to 2.81 years, generating 36,827.64 stLINK rewards to $SDL stakers. • Took $LINK Staking cross-chain for the first time on @arbitrum. • Attained the 3rd most $LINK of all Blockchains and DeFi protocols (barring Ethereum), closing in on the @arbitrum Bridge ($8m TVL to go). • Passed 15 SLURPs with more in the works. • Attained a listing on one of the 10 most popular CEXes by volume, @MEXC_Official. • Sponsored and spoke at @chainlink’s SmartCon in Hong Kong. • Procured best-in-industry security services for 24/7 monitoring of assets staked through stake.link with @HypernativeLabs. • Fully completed preparations for deployment to @MetisL2 as an LST provider. • Formalized pairing with one of the largest infrastructure providers for the @MetisL2 deployment, @a41_allforone ($2.5b Total Staked Assets, 1.8% of all staked $ETH is with A41). • Doubled the community pool delegation fee to $SDL stakers/ reSDL holders. • Hired the first full-time DAO employee (Network Aligned Individual Liaison / NAIL - Tokenized / @Sjsvakkkk). • Integrated with industry-renowned accounting and financial management firm @HarrisTrotter_. • Bolstered incentives to the stLINK/LINK Pool on @CurveFinance, achieving ATH liquidity levels of $10m+. • Passed governance to implement a DeFi-PoL delegation fee for stake.link’s LSTs (Coming Soon). • Achieved a runway of $250,000 in $USDC, enabling the protocol to be better prepared to weather future market conditions. • Announced the first proposed 3rd party strategic partnership with industry-leading digital asset staking platform @StakingRewards. • Established formal DAO legal structure under the British Virgin Islands regulatory framework (BVI). • Finalized Native $LINK Staking Withdrawals Contracts and Audits, set to deploy in January. • Completed the first public competitive audit involving @chainlink CCIP. • Successfully actioned both Airdrops to $LINK depositors to the Priority Pool and $SDL stakers as enacted per SLURP-10a (please check the Airdrops page for those who have not claimed their SDL Airdrops — this can be found in the “Claim - Airdrops” section of the Assets tab in the top left of the stake.link app).
