I applaud the California Republican Party for calling out Carl DeMaio’s "brazen and unlawful campaign to deceive California voters." He’s smeared and lied about Republicans his whole career and continues to lie about good Republicans today. Carl’s attempted to confuse voters that he speaks for the Republican Party. This is why I am voting for Sheriff Chad Bianco for Governor of California! @ChadBianco THE FALSE NARRATIVE In general elections, people refer to the “October Surprise” when a story is held back (true or not) that will be so explosive, it will change the outcome of an election. That tactic is being played on us right now by Fox News and by Carl DeMaio. Both are pushing the narrative that if Republicans split their vote between Hilton and Bianco, we lose. Their battle cry is, “Chad must get out or we will lose!” In any other context, that would be called voter intimidation. There are many reasons why that is a particularly bad strategy, but let’s just start with the one they are not talking about. The Democrats have very cleverly taken Swalwell out of the running and pushed Becerra quickly to be their front runner. Let’s imagine that the Hilton strategy is successful and the top two are Hilton and Becerra going into the general election in November. Intra-party polling on the Democrat side shows that their #1 issue is to fight Trump. You don’t need to believe me; you can watch their ads that all say something like, “I will fight Trump!” Fight Trump, fight Trump - the voters will hear time and time again between now and November. How would Hilton win over Democrat and Democrat-leaning independents? Would Trump’s endorsement carry the day? Would Laura Ingraham be able to persuade those voters to vote for Trump’s endorsed candidate who worked for and still appears regularly on Fox News and has a British accent? I think not, and to win in November in California, you MUST convince Democrats to cross over. So, the Hilton supporters win in June and lose in November. What will bring Democrats over to vote for a Republican in November? The issue that can make a difference is public safety. Across the country, it is acknowledged that the sheriff is the most trusted elected official in the county, and the same is true in California. Who better can Republicans present to the people than Sheriff Chad Bianco who is highly respected not only in Riverside County, but who has received the endorsement of every sheriff in the state -- both Republican and Democrat. Let me say that again. Chad Bianco has received the endorsement of all the Democrat sheriffs as well as all the Republican sheriffs. In a race against Becerra, Bianco will not lose Republican voters and will win over Democrat voters. Another consideration that Fox News and DeMaio have pushed aside is that Becerra has a strong candidate himself on the Democrat side. It is very likely that the Democrat vote will be split between Becerra and Steyer. The “Chad must drop out” strategy downplays our very real opportunity to have two Republicans in the top two because Tom Steyer is certainly not going to back out. The East Valley Republican Women Patriots have endorsed Chad Bianco for governor, not because he’s our friend, though he is; not because he has kept our county safe, though he has; not because he has handled administrative duties with skill, though he has; not because he is has built his life in California, though he has; and not because he is a family man and a Christian, though he is. We endorsed Chad Bianco because he has the best chance of winning in November and will be a great, courageous governor for our state!
