For how many people joined the armchair lynch mob and were clearly salivating to see the public execution of @DrMichaelLBrown, a pastor who has served the Lord and His church faithfully for decades, this turned out to be a BIG. FAT. NOTHINGBURGER. And no, I don’t feel sorry for you. You know who I really feel sorry for here? Nancy Brown. A wife who had clearly forgiven her husband and wanted to move on, and whose wishes to keep the past in the past her husband was clearly trying to honor in spite of immense pressure from ridiculous self-righteous scandal-mongers with bones to pick. There’s one section that’s particularly telling. Where one of the “witnesses” talks about how unfair it is that the whole thing wasn’t made public. WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK? Yuck, dude. Your jealousy and thirst for blood is sliming everybody. It was dealt with exactly as it should have been dealt with - between the people who were affected. Because, in the situation of the deceased woman, it involved SPOUSES who needed to be considered as well. Nancy Brown just wanted to leave this sad story at the foot of the cross, and if all the signs are pointing straight, it looks like the other married lady did too. She took it to the grave, after living a life beautifully free from public scrutiny and the judgement of keyboard adjudicators. Shame on everyone who dragged this up almost 25 years later, throwing it into the public square, shaming Nancy Brown’s family, and bringing the hatred, slander, and mockery of the world to her doorstep - just to score brownie points with the “advocates” - you know, the ones who are in charge of the twitter witch trials, and use about as much wisdom and due process as the Salem Witch hunters. Sarah Monk sounds like a deeply broken woman, who came from a deeply broken home. Michael Brown tried to meet her unmet needs, when he should have let her seek it in Jesus. He was dumb and he knows it. He infantilized her, rather than treating her like a grown woman who needed to make her own choices to seek wholeness. The fact that she left not only the ministry, but the faith in a matter of days, shows how deep her brokenness and how shallow her roots were. She says she’s been trying to come back to God for 20 years… I hope she realizes that, while healing can take some time, it only takes 20 seconds and a humble heart to come back to Jesus. There actually is no other way. All the tar-and-feather homies are BIG MAD that they don’t get to see a lynching today for sins that were committed, repented of, and never repeated. (Although I’m pretty sure a bunch of us know this is a lot more about Dr. Brown’s refusal to join the rage mob against #mikebickle than anything else.) Sorry bros… that’s actually how the gospel works. I hope you learn to appreciate that someday when God doesn’t crucify you for something that is already nailed to the cross. Jesus paid it all. Selah.
