“There’s one thing more powerful than a billionaire – and it’s a union.” Hours before the 2026 Met Gala, which was sponsored by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, union organisers put on a ‘Ball Without Billionaires’ in New York, featuring Amazon delivery drivers, warehouse workers and campaigners. “Working people are underpaid, undervalued and under-appreciated,” said co-host Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. “Let those billionaires uptown have their Met party – we’re going to have something way more fabulous down here!”

DON'T CHEETAH TEAMSTERS OUT OF A FAIR CONTRACT More than 100 members of Teamsters Local 727 launched an unfair labor practice strike Monday morning against the Chicago Zoological Society. These Teamsters work at the Brookfield Zoo Chicago caring for animals, assisting visitors, and maintaining the zoo. Zoo management offered Teamsters a last, best, and final offer that would have removed union health care — offering no alternative coverage — which members rejected. Teamsters at Brookfield Zoo will remain on the picket line until the zoo presents the fair contract workers deserve.
