I am forever impressed by the determination of much of the news media to just never confirm basic facts. There is no "gun show loophole" and there never has been. Every FFL at a gun show must do background checks. It's true that private sellers who are not dealers do not have to do background checks (though knowingly selling to a prohibited person is a felony), but that has nothing to do with gun shows in particular. And those "engaged in the business" must run background checks. The only thing that has changed is the Biden Admin's ridiculous expansion of what that phrase means. The definition in federal law still stands: "(21)The term “engaged in the business” means— (c) as applied to a dealer in firearms, as defined in section 921(a)(11)(A), a person who devotes time, attention, and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business to predominantly earn a profit through the repetitive purchase and resale of firearms, but such term shall not include a person who makes occasional sales, exchanges, or purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal collection or for a hobby, or who sells all or part of his personal collection of firearms;" Basically, even though federal law specifically exempted those who make occasional sales or exchanges, the Biden-era ATF tried to make many such people covered under the term through rulemaking. It exceeded ATF's authority as rulemaking cannot contradict the laws passed by Congress.

You choose where to work, what to build, or who to trade with. When a company gets rich, it isn’t because it’s extracting from workers by force. It’s because millions of voluntary transactions add up. People choose to buy, workers choose to work, investors choose to fund. The wealth comes from creating value at scale, not draining it from a captive class. If it were truly “from the many to the few” by force, you wouldn’t need customers. There is a thing I am calling "highbrow ad hominem" in which educated liberals use the same name calling and insult tactics Trump uses, but think it's different when they do it because they do it in a more sophisticated way which they think gives them plausible deniability.
