#SriLanka 🇱🇰 is currently facing one of the most devastating flood disasters since the early 90s. The impact of Cyclone Ditwah has been heartbreaking: 🔹 159 lives lost 🔹 203 people are missing 🔹 833,000+ affected 🔹 122,000+ displaced Entire communities have been washed away, communication lines disrupted, and thousands of families are now without homes, safety, or essentials. If you’re in a safe area, please check on those around you. If you’re abroad, please stay informed and support however you can. Sri Lanka is going through a very dark moment, lets keep the country in our prayers and stand with those who need us the most.

On Saturday between 5:00pm and 11:00pm, I ran a workshop on Cardano’s 2030 Vision in Douala. It was an intense session with so many people from all works of life. Cybersecurity experts, fintech professionals, artists, developers, civil engineers and many others. We also had Bank directors, insurance executives, CTOs, ENEO’s Marketing Director etc We spent over 3 hours walking through the vision while discovering what Cardano is about. It was beautiful having our business community perspective on the vision could actually serve the Cameroonian market. I’m compiling everything from the recordings and written feedback. This goes into Intersect’s roadmap development process as official community input from Cameroon. Thanks to @IntersectCPC for sponsoring and trusting me with this. Thank you Mr @che_azeh for hosting with me and a shout out every single person who gave their Saturday evening to make sure our voices shape Cardano’s future. We are just getting started.. 🇨🇲 #CardanoCommunity

🏝️ Out of office until further notice. Need to hide away and recharge personal Cardano batteries so that I can come back swinging for you all. 🤝 It can be/is quite taxing - so knowing when to take a breather is key to longevity. My all socials will hibernate for a while. 💕

It is still hard to believe that our dear friend and fellow Cardano community member, Max van Rossem, has passed away here in Japan. Just a few days ago, we were all together sharing laughs, ideas, and moments that now feel timeless. I still remember him seated next to me at the Cardano Governance Workshop in Osaka, deeply engaged in discussion about governance and principles of decentralization. I tried to convince him to run for the upcoming @IntersectMBO Civics Committee elections, recalling the work we did together at the Cardano Constitution Synthesis Workshop in Nairobi last year, and imagining what more we could achieve as the ecosystem evolved. The last time I saw him was at the @Catalyst_onX event on Wednesday as we said goodbye and spoke about meeting again in Berlin for the Summit next month. None of us imagined that would be our last conversation. This time in Japan, we all shared so many good memories both professionally and as friends, singing, laughing, and simply enjoying the moments. His passion for the Governance era of Cardano, and his belief in the spirit of true decentralization were really inspiring. In Buddhism, we say that life is like a dew drop beautiful, radiant, and fleeting. Impermanence is the nature of all things, yet the energy of compassion, kindness, and truth that someone leaves behind never truly fades. May we all honour your memory by continuing the work you cared so deeply about, building systems rooted in fairness, compassion, and community. May you find peace, Max, on this new path of existence. You’ll be missed by many not only for your work but for the warmth, depth, and sincerity you carried in every conversation. May you attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana my friend 🙏

With the consent of his family, we're deeply saddened to share the news that Max van Rossem has passed away while in Japan. He died peacefully in his sleep from heart failure. Max was a much-loved member of the Cardano community, always thoughtful, generous, sharp-minded, and deeply committed to those he worked alongside. He made significant contributions to the development of Cardano’s constitution and to many of the governance discussions and optimizations that will help shape the network’s future. Many of us will be deeply saddened by his passing. At this time, we ask that everyone continue to respect the privacy of his family and the grief of his close friends, as they navigate this unimaginably sad and hard time. Our thoughts are with all who knew and loved Max.

Mercy Fordwoo - @M3RSEE Mercy has been a top contributor in the Cardano ecosystem for several years. Her dedication to building @wada_org in Africa is quite commendable. She has been contributing to Cardano and Intersect from the very beginning and was instrumental to the success of so many milestones in Cardano including the CIP1694 workshops and the Constitutional Convention. Mercy offers a rich diversity as an African and years of immense experience in leadership and management, tempered with a deep compassion for the people. I have worked with her personally and I have found her to be a very amazing person. One of the things I admire about her is her deep desire to connect with grassroots builders and users and I think we need someone like that with such quality at the Intersect Board level.
