Center of Excellence in Albania: the greenhouses are taking shape, and the work doesn’t stop. The project is steadily progressing in the Elbasan region, in close cooperation with local partners and institutions. MASHAV’s Centers of Excellence are established around the world in partnership with local stakeholders, based on each country’s needs. They serve as platforms for demonstrating Israeli agricultural technologies adapted to local conditions, while providing training, knowledge sharing, and innovation support.

India and Israel have long been partners. Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, these ties have grown even stronger. It gives me immense pleasure to share that an MoU has been signed between the Government of India & the Government of Israel for cooperation in Agriculture. This agreement aims to work together in several areas of agriculture such as managing water and soil as well as growing crops in arid and semi-arid areas, horticulture, post-harvest & processing tech, studying plants & animals to improve farming, animal health, nutrition, and disease prevention, farm mechanization & agro-tech and agri research. I am confident that this partnership will give a big boost to productivity and innovation in Indian Agricultural sector.

Had a meeting today with Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. @avidichter and his delegation. Discussed India’s extensive food security programmes, fortified PDS, millet promotion, agri-voltaic innovations, water management and opportunities for collaboration in sustainable agriculture. Shalom’ is a greeting, like ‘Namaste’. But as Israel’s Agriculture Minister Mr. @avidichter explained, it also means peace and completeness. This very sentiment was reflected in today’s dialogue between India and Israel. We had a very productive discussion on climate change, food security, and agricultural innovations. We have decided to form a Joint Working Group, which will create a roadmap to achieve set goals in a time-bound manner.
