Perhaps not consciously (but as a result of the society you were raised in) you have been instilled with a desire to ease others trouble, and part of that manifests in the returning of the cart?

Prob a million different psychological studies or theories on consciousness, human psychology, why we act/think how we do, I dunno.

Only when you have both buttons pressed is death ever introduced, so you cant pin it on red as murder or blue as suicide from the perspective of culpability

@cinnamontoastk Red is just the logical choice. 100% chance you live and 50% chance everyone else does too. Blue is 49% chance for everyone to live and a 51% chance that you and your fellow blue pockets all die. Nobody is murdering anyone, except whoever is forcing this choice on people.
